Moderators Blake Munroe Posted Tuesday at 12:31 PM Author Moderators Posted Tuesday at 12:31 PM A little more on Doke: Maurice Doke had an impressive collegiate career at the University of Texas, playing as a guard and linebacker for the Longhorns from 1957 to 1959. He started all 31 games of his varsity career and was a key contributor to Texas football during that era. In 1959, Doke was named a First-Team All-American and helped Texas secure a share of the Southwest Conference championship. He also played in the 1960 Cotton Bowl Classic, where he was named co-MVP, despite Texas falling to Syracuse. His teammates recognized his leadership by awarding him the George “Hook” McCullough MVP trophy, and the Houston Post named him Southwest Conference Lineman of the Year. Beyond football, Doke excelled academically. He was an Academic All-American, served as editor-in-chief of the UT Chemical Engineering Society Magazine, and was even a Rhodes Scholar candidate. His dedication to both athletics and academics made him a standout figure in Texas Longhorns history. 6 Quote

Modern Day Warrior Posted Tuesday at 12:54 PM Posted Tuesday at 12:54 PM Shane Dronett. The late 80s and early 90s are the teams I started following at a young age. Quote
