Why does it seem that Texas is bringing in more highly ranked players on defense than offense right now. I always thought with Sark as the head coach, we would have 5 star after 5 star wanting to visit and play for Texas. However, it seems that Texas is getting higher quality talent of the defensive side (outside of the quarterbacks). Quote
Moderators Gerry Hamilton Posted 4 hours ago Moderators Posted 4 hours ago James Johnson is OV'ing Texas on his birthday weekend. Syracuse fought hard to get him to cancel Texas, and earlier in the week Texas wasn't sure if he would make it in. IMO, Johnson likes Texas a lot. Miami is fighting hard. As is UF and UGA. Johnson is from Fort Myers, and has known Kendall Guervil for a few years. 10 Quote

4thandFive Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Am a little surprised we don’t have more offensive studs interested at this point in Texas. You’d imagine Arch, Lacey, & Bell + Sark would be herding them in. Quote

RB - Room is deep already. Chad Scott is in the same boat Chris Jackson and Kenny Baker were when they came to Texas. Needed time to build relationships and learn the lay of the land there. Scott was a college football RB coach last year, but still needs time. WR - I think other programs are negatively recruiting Texas by saying outside of Worthy, the WRs they have sent to the league have been from the transfer portal and not guys they signed out of high school. Chris Jackson can change that narrative with great seasons from Wingo, Moore, Livingstone and the 2025 class down the road. TE - Similar to RB, this room is deep. Not worried about TE at all as long as the guys they signed out of high school and Endries have good showings. OL - One of the deepest rooms on the team. I think Texas can get three of the four targets between Krempin, Lee, Ojo, and Turntine with a big NIL push. Hard to see them striking out on all four. 2 Quote

Thank you for this lol, he literally started with Offense first. I guess everyone forgets when we couldn't get elite defenders to visit lol. Quote

Mainly thinking about the lack of explosive, pure national talent at WR & RB. Our RB have been ok, but have we had anybody outside of Bijan & Blue really tear it up in quite some time? Quote

Baxter was supposed to be that guy, but he's had injury setbacks from his first game in 2023 against Rice until now. Just a string of bad luck. If Baxter returns to what he was in the Iowa State, Kansas State, and the CFP Sugar Bowl games, he would be that guy. Fingers crossed that ship hasn't sailed due to the injuries. Quote
