Anyone saying otherwise is ill informed no matter how much they want to “act” otherwise. @Bobby Burton I use that offer an go all in on Lamar brown in two weeks Quote
lscroggs82 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago It has been stated a few times now that we will continue to recruit Malakai Lee going forward, but this hasn’t been said about the other two that announced today. Is there a reason that Simeon and Calicut aren’t going to be “recruited through the whistle”? Or is this Gerry and Bobby’s way of telling us something about the Lee recruitment specifically without coming right out and saying it? Quote

K. Baughman Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I agree money offer is not an issue, so where was the disconnect with these three recruits? Quote

Thisrowyellssorry Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago *Sad Longhorn noises* I think I was trying to anti jinx us, pretending I didn’t care about any of these three falling our way. Frankly Lee was the one that bothered me, really wanted to land him with his measurables and play style. Calicut is kind of a tweener/developmental take, Simeon is not my beloved James Johnson. But Bobby & crew I think are accurate here, I’d rather land 40% against the titans of recruiting than 60% against former Big 12 foes. We need to stay big game hunting, we need monsters at every level. We need to be uncompromising, but for now I just need a drink. To landing JJ tomorrow (football) God(s)willing! 7 Quote

Imo regardless of recruiting rankings, James Johnson is as nice of a prospect as Lamar Brown. One or the other combined with Cleveland, Berymon, Guervil, and Wells is an all time great HS interior DL class at Texas 2 1 Quote

Another is hanging around the rim on Michigan recruits when their head coach isn’t exactly on firm footing is probably smart. 19 1 Quote

tommym Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago So, is Texas getting some good news tomorrow and next week. It will not be so bleak soon. 1 1 Quote
ATX16 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Competive bids from more schools combined with our loaded roster = more recruiting losses than weve seen the last few seasons. It was a good run, just keep using the portal efficiently and the additional losses are small blips . 1 Quote
Brazos21 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago We are losing recruiting battles to schools with rosters just as loaded as ours. And, according to Callicut, we are offering more NIL and still losing. 1 Quote

Texas has been very good at "staying #2" with certain recruits because of uncertainty with the other teams' coaches. The Oregon Ducks' Mario Cristobal was the #1 choice for Kelvin Banks and Cam Williams. Cristobal leaves for a new head coaching position and their second choice (Texas) scooped them both up. Texas hung around the rim and it payed off. The Aggies Jimbo Fisher was the #1 pick for Anthony Hill. Jimbo had a terrible season, was totally on the hot seat, and Hills second choice (Texas) got him to flip. Being #2 can simply be a stepping stone to #1 if the dominoes fall the right way. 1 2 Quote

The offense will have to actually help them this year. Still hope they beat OU though Quote
