The landscape of recruiting has evolved. Recruits can use verbals as negotiating tactics. Pretty sure that a “hi” = a verbal but the $$ is the trump card that will turn a recruitment on a dime. Old school “tea leaves” are less relevant.

Last night they had referenced Chase Calicut had privately verbally committed to Texas so that hi became a bye in the NIL era... Will see how things go during the season with some of these kids.

I believe  Gerry's  "HI's" now are basically click bait to some extent.  I don't  think he is locked in as he wants us to think. I hope I'm wrong.

Bingo you win👍👍

The thing is the HI's are probably right at the time they are made,  but nothing is final until it's final.

Some people get excited about them some don't.

For me I like to read the news,  but predictions really not very interesting to me.

A top 3 and maybe a heavy lean is enough and those may not be very accurate.

I think we see things through the same lens. I agree with most everything you wrote with exception that predictions from the moderators and posters who seem to have access to information from somewhere, I find interesting. Recruiting tactics and rules, seem to change yearly now. It's hard to keep up.

Explain to me how it's clickbait when everyone who clicks on the thread is already a paying customer?  Weird take.

But with that said the Hi thing is not my thing. And its pretty much useless in this NIL era of CFB.
