Moderators Blake Munroe Posted 13 hours ago Moderators Posted 13 hours ago Curious to see who everyone’s favorite player has been under Sark and why? Who yall got?? 1 Quote
McCoyColt Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Kelvin Banks for me. After years and years of whiffing on top OL recruits and having a bad product on the field in that position, he was the game changer that we had to get. He helped turn the ship around at Texas with his immediate impact. 3 Quote
Bunk Moreland Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Roschon Johnson. He helped build the foundation of Sark’s culture at Texas and, for my money, was the toughest SOB who has played under Sark at Texas. JWhitt is #2 for similar reasons. 4 Quote
SpaceCityWrangler Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago (edited) Too many… Bijan Roschon Murphy Wisner Lefau Taaffe I’m a big Nick Townsend fan so I’m going with him. Edited 13 hours ago by SpaceCityWrangler 1 Quote
Bunk Moreland Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago In terms of players who I’ve enjoyed watching the most, definitely have to group Bijan, Banks, Worthy, Simmons, Jahdae, Sweat and Hill in their own category as some of the all-time greats to ever grace the 40 Acres. 1 Quote
McCoy2Shipley Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Rojo for me. He turned this program around. I am a big believer in that his performance against K-state in 21 really turned a corner for the program. Most exciting is Bijan 3 Quote
SarkNotSteven Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Jahdae—not only was he awesome on the field, but he’s an EXCELLENT representative for Texas off the field. And he called his shot on the Thorpe 🤘 4 Quote
tenneseehorn08 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Whitt, Rojo, Sorrell, Anthony Hill, Barron... Maybe Casey Thompson because of all that film study 😉 1 1 Quote
ElCafetero Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago (edited) Xavier Worthy i remember his freshman year in the OU game and he took the screen pass 75 yards to the endzone on the first play of the game and that’s when I knew he was HIM I would say Bijan but I don’t know if we are counting players that were Herman recruits that played under Sark Also Kelvin, Ant Hill, Jahdae, and Colin to round out the top 5 Edited 12 hours ago by ElCafetero 2 Quote
NothinButDaHorns34 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago (edited) I’ve gotta go with a kelvin banks for sure. To trust flood and sark as a five star offensive tackle recruit everybody wanted when we hadn’t had a guy go in the first round in over 10 years when he committed to us is very commendable as a fan. CHorn427 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago (edited) Thinking about all of these guys is incredible. We’ve truly gotten to the point where the program is pumping out memorable legends at a high rate again. My favorite is Anthony Hill. Haven’t had a dominant LB like him on the field since Derrick Johnson. Feels like we’ve had stars at every position in that timeframe except LB. I thought Malik Jefferson was gonna be that but underwhelmed imo. There have been highly serviceable guys, but no Butkus level guys until Hill. Anthony Hill Jr has made it look cool to play LB at Texas again. Even teamed up with Derrick Johnson to recruit Tyler Atkinson. LB is a devalued position these days, but imo no truly elite defense I’ve ever seen has been devoid of at least one star LB. Hopefully we’ve got that pipeline going now. Sean Beatty Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Thought about it a while. Honestly T’Vondre Sweat. Came a long way, had that monster season, Outland trophy, and was just so fun. Also kind of hilarious he was at the center of the Bo Davis bus rant 1 Quote
Rick Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Roschon for the unselfishness and leadership he displayed. Helped cement Sark's culture right from the start. Whitt for his perseverence and work ethic. Brandon Collins for his perseverence. Finally fulfilled the early expectations of him his final year. Finished strong. 1 Quote
ribtips Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Quinn Ewers for me. Quinn is behind most of my favorite plays and moments from the Sark era. For example, Quinn shredding Bama in Tuscaloosa, his 4 TDs in 49-0, and can’t forget 4th and 13. 3 Quote
coltonmartinez Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Gotta be Taffe! What a guy, what a story. Even before he was an All-American or even a starter, he has always shown so much drive, leadership and passion. 2 Quote
Paul Jespersen Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Quinn, Jahdae, Ant Hill, T Sweat, Bijan. 🤘 1 Quote
coltonmartinez Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago It’s so cool that everyone is saying someone different. It’s just further proof that Sark has molded a culture that’s present in many players and he continues to recruit the right guys. 4 Quote
horns96 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Jonathon Brooks. Great in-state player and his development demonstrated that this coaching staff knew wtf they were doing. 2 Quote
Ace_Rothstein Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago All the guys that were Tom Herman holdovers that bought in under Sark and didn’t jump ship after the initial 5-7 and 8-5 seasons. So guys like Sweat, Barron, Whittington, Christian Jones etc… 1 Quote
bourbasted Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago So many good guys have come through, but for me it's gotta be J-Whit. Absolutely selfless, stayed and provided leadership, and i will never forget his block and then standing over the player flexing. When a guy like that shows you the raw emotion and takes pride in the things not everyone wants to do, that impacts the whole team. He was a key figure in rebuilding our culture. Quote

I think it's a testament to the talent that has been brought in, along with the culture that has been instilled. Quote
