Kavian Bryant’s next Texas visit

Per a family member, the 4-star++ QB out of Palestine Westwood is scheduled to visit Texas September 20 for the night game vs Sam Houston State 

And the RRS is also likely. And of course, A&M game (schedule dependent)

@Gerry Hamilton  do you think Bryant’s circle / agents want him to follow in the class after Dia Bell?  Or does a path to playing time not matter as much here?

Dont have concrete info on that yet 

I do know that the family understands there will be a needed development curve for Kavian. He’s close to a sandlot HS QB right now at the level he’s playing at. Too easy for him to just run around and make plays. Hes not having to actually play true QB right now in the context of what he will have to at next level

Nice pocket passer.  😆  I hope his offensive line does better and that he scrambles more to get a pass off and not just run so that it will be easier to evaluate him.  But, boy can he run.

He’s going to be negative recruited against for not turning two straight #1 overall players into high draft picks if Manning doesn’t turn it around

I think having faith is fine, but blind faith in his development is a no go, imo.

Couple of Q's with a 2027 QB for Texas

1. Would you "overpay" if forced for a QB that won't likely see the field for two years? 

2. Any 2027 QB considering Texas will have to be comfortable with the possibility of not playing for two years, and being more on the development side early on solely. Don't think too many guys will think like that.

Kavian Bryant is headed to the notable NFL QB development factory at……..Texas Tech. 

I’d love to see what that negative recruiting pitch looked like. I bet it involved a lot of brochures in the mail from Cody Campbell.

I’m glad we went hard after Bryant early in this cycle but the 2027 QB will have to be a Trey Owens type take imo. IIRC the 2028 has some kids that we have already shown interest in (and maybe offered?) that will likely be the successor to Bell/Lacey.

Definitely not saying Tech can/will use that but Ohio State, Miami (Ward/Beck), Alabama, and any other top school can/will pull that card

Brother, you can try to convince yourself otherwise but most of these decisions are money driven.

Miami is going to try to tell a HS QB to not trust Texas’ development when Miami has had to go to the portal 3 straight years for a QB? Before Sayin, Ohio State had 3 straight cycles where they QB signee transferred.

None of these schools have pristine track records. It’s college football. Trying to say Texas had a QB “only” go in the 7th round of the NFL draft is a waste of time.
