Moderators CJ Vogel Posted October 2 Moderators Posted October 2 There has been plenty of conversation about the weather and what is expected this weekend from Mother Nature in The Swamp. According to AccuWeather, precipitation is very likely. Playing in wet conditions obviously isn't ideal for the passing game, but perhaps the most concerning aspect of this forecast is wind gusts pushing north of 25 mph. Cloudy, windy and wet looks like the full game forecast. Pretty good reason as to why the total for this game is 41.5. 5 Quote

harveycmd Posted October 2 Posted October 2 I don't think I've seen this much fretting over the possibility of about a quarter of an inch of rain. 1 2 Quote

Niblett scares me. I coached high school returners for many years. If a guy is not fluid and tracks the ball naturally, he is not going to be successful. We actually used our TE one year because he NEVER dropped a ball, even at practice with me throwing things at him. None of our “skill” guys could do it that year. When Dalan McCutcheon was in, he looked comfortable and a natural. Bubbler makes me nervous every time. Edited October 2 by Huskie1 Quote

The fear of fumbles is still legit and will definitely test the staff's trust in him, but he has been very solid at finding slivers of daylight in the run game. 9 Quote

Just concerned about fumbles in that weather. I hope he proves me wrong!! 1 Quote
Mark Futrell Posted October 2 Posted October 2 I'm not worried about the rain. The footing on natural grass will be important; especially if there is al ot of rain the day before the game. How many games have you seen played in snow? The over typically hits. I'm not worried about the rain; however, the wind is the issue. Candidly, both Teams will have to manage and deal with the elements. Hoping Sark & Co. can solve the problems in making adjustments quicker, more efficient and effectively than The Florida Staff. My #1 Concern is: In the Event of Lightning where it creates a Weather Delay and Teams have to return to The Locker Room - so, The Game has started and and then interrupted - which Staff and Team will do The Best Job at returning to the Field and playing at The Highest Level? Buck Travis Posted October 2 Posted October 2 Curious to see what the crowd is like. 18% of tickets remaining on Stubhub. Some selling for less than $100 INCLUDING fees. Feels like a lot of fans will bail out because of the weather...and the obvious. Quote

horns96 Posted October 3 Posted October 3 (edited) All due respect to the best in the game, but OTF is terrible at discussing weather. 10 day forecasts are garbage. 7 day forecasts are mostly garbage. ...and trying to forecast local effects of tropical disturbances by googling national sites like AccuWeather is useless. @Blake Munroe & @CJ Vogel the local weather affiliates will always do a better job of predicting local conditions - https://www.wcjb.com/weather/ Look at your phone, AccuWeather is always off on local conditions.
