Rocky P Posted October 23 Posted October 23 @Gerry Hamilton the things he was doing last night were unreal. he moves like a combo guard. He made Lively look short and he is a 7 footer. I was telling a friend earlier, if Spurs can get 60-65 games out of him in the regular season and he is able to play in the playoffs, they are going to be a hard team to put out. Quote

Interested to see the Spurs when they have Fox and full lineup/rotation. Agee 100% on getting 65'ish regular season games and healthy in playoffs... they could be a very tough out. Their young guys will keep ascending with experience this season Quote

VanVleet injury was crushing If Wemby stays healthy with the young nucleus being built around him... he'll likely get 1-2. He's like nothing I've ever seen before, but that body isn't built for longevity either. That’s lofty goal, but they can get a serviceable goal if need be. Reed and Sheppard have a lot of room left to grow. Sleep on Sengun and Jabari Smith if you want. Wemby gotta stay healthy. Quote
MarkInAustin Posted October 23 Posted October 23 From the highlights, he didn't take many treys. He worked in the paint and inside. That is what he should do. I don't know if he will continue to resist putting up 10 shots from out, but if he does, count that as growth, whether it was his sole decision or whether the coaches or his time with Olajuwon influenced him. The highlights also showed Castle to advantage. They have something going together. Quote

I think he may be the closest comp to Wemby ever, but be was shorter, and much stronger. I was thinking he reminds me of Wilt from early in his career. Watch Wilt on YouTube and you will see what I mean. Wilt was more nimble and moved like a small forward and had a better all around game but Wemby looks like the real deal. 2 Quote
MikeH Posted October 24 Posted October 24 He looked physically stronger and more assertive last night than he ever did the first two years. Made AD (a 5x All-Defense selection) look like a helpless JAG out there. If he’s gonna do that to AD and Lively, he’s gonna go for 60+ a couple times this year against some of the smaller, weaker defending teams. Last night was one of the most breathtaking individual performances I’ve ever seen. Just the size and skill set and ability to influence everything whenever he’s on the court. Special special player. Jordan91 Posted October 24 Posted October 24 Having a dynasty again will be difficult because of the potential feet issues that could come with being that tall. Each championship requires a lot of playoff games year after year. That’s a lot more wear and tear on the body. Quote
horns96 Posted October 24 Posted October 24 (edited) I know there are elaborate protocols for measuring height in NBA including multiple certifications, and I know that Robinson and Duncan have probably lost an inch or so from their prime, but c'mon... Edited October 24 by horns96 Quote

ElCafetero Posted October 25 Posted October 25 In his second game, he had 29 pts, 11 rebounds, a steal, and 9 BLOCKS (should’ve had 10) a near 30 pt triple double Quote
AusMOJO Posted October 25 Posted October 25 I've never seen a guy that tall, move that well and be that athletic. People make fun of big acting like guards but he still plays like a big, if that makes sense. He's insane. Quote

What he did last night to Anthony Davis and Derek Lively was pure basketball insanity. WEMBY is a problem. GO SPURS GO! Quote

Califashorn75 Posted October 26 Posted October 26 (edited) France has a lot of great hoopers, both men and women. My Valkyries in the W were basically the French national team and we made the playoffs in our inaugural season. Edited October 26 by Califashorn75 Quote
