198mph winds surface level

252mph winds at 675 feet

Incredible

I don't ever remember seeing or hearing of numbers like this. Catastrophic situation for some folks in Jamaica. Eastern Cuba and Bahamas are next in her path.

It’s been a relatively quiet season this year for the southeast region . If this thing would’ve hit in the states it would’ve leveled whatever cities in its path

That's one of the bigger reasons she's all juiced up. Low basin activity left a lot of fuel, and she sat in the same relative area just intensifying without obstruction. This is a historic hurricane. Jamaica and Cuba are going to need a lot of help.

This hurricane hunter is a good follow for updates, as long as he’s able to. He’s been through 82 hurricanes around the world, including 5 Cat 5’s.

I went through hurricane Carla in 1961 and I have had a healthy respect for them since.

891.7mb

1013.2mb is considered standard for reference, and those hurricane hunters have some large brass ones. Manscaped and magnificent.

No thank you.
