My concern is that too much credit is being given to unproven players. At RB, I love Baxter, but outside of pass pro has he really shown that he can be a #1 RB? I haven't seen it consistently yet. And what exactly has James Simon proven? I like our stable of RBs, but outside Wisner, I have yet to see anyone opposing DCs worry about. And we still don't have a home run threat. None of our RBs are pure RBs who can hit a crease and take it to the house against an SEC defense.

I know Wingo has started to come on, and Mosely looks like a complete WR, but if you have a chance to grab a proven burner in the portal, I think you have to take it. I know they are 5 stars, but outside McClutcheon, what have the freshmen shown you?

And the OL. Stroh, Kibble, Neto, and Brooks all scare me, being in the lineup for what might be Arch's last year. I can't believe we are even talking about this. Until all of them were removed, Arch was getting killed. And we are supposed to trust that they are gonna get better.  They have not earned that at all in my opinion. I think you need to bring in at least one IOL that is a proven, seasoned veteran. If we had signed Pregnon, the state of our OL would have been greatly improved this year. I'm saying you bring in 4, but 1 definitely, and maybe 2.

On D, I think you must bring in an S. And maybe a CB too.

I think we are promising young players the chance to be the guy and play early, and that is hurting us. I don't think we need to build completely through the portal, but I think we need to get help where we can.

Only way you go after Coleman is if someone leaves.

I think you'd need a couple of someone's to leave to afford Coleman, he will demand a crazy sum and rightly so.

I’m assuming Moore heads to NFL and they assess whether the freshmen WRs are worth the price they’re commanding. If not you reduce their NIL (probably causing them to transfer) and make way for an AD / Golden / Bond type NFL bound upperclassmen to add to the returning group of four.

I could also see this scenario playing out, just not sure Moore is having the year he wanted and that if he will grade out well. I'm just saying that if everyone comes back, they won't take a WR.

We know Moseley was not good to start the season, and that Wingo missed some practice time, but is there more to it than that?

Sorry, I made that sound more ominous that it needed to be lol.

If the developmental period of 2+ years is communicated with recruits and they’re ok with it, I don’t see how bringing in a one and done vet at their position would be problematic.
Texas will need to land at least one big time transfer prospect on offense this cycle like they did in previous years.

Right now, you're looking at the OL being LT - Goosby/Brooks, LG - Stroh/Brooks, C - Roberston/Cruz, RG -Kibble/Stroh?, RT - Baker. Who knows if Cojoe decides to stay or not. Plus t he other Fr currently will develop and fight for spots.

I think you at least kick the tires on a guy or two if the portal, see what is there. But I don't think they will.

Bobby followed up.  It’s all fine.  I wasn’t tuned in as much from the spring thru the summer so had forgotten about Moore missing the spring, Wisner missing time, etc.
