    The Arnolds and Itkins have participated in helping Texas with numerous facility projects, with team-wide NIL deals and numerous other items that benefit the University and Texas athletics. Their generosity, and the generosity of others like them, play a major role in making Texas the best athletic department and university in the country. Hook’Em!

    For folks in Tulsa who want to come hang out with other Longhorns tonight, I’ll be at the Go West Events Center beginning at 6pm for the annual Tulsa Texas Exes scholarship fundraiser. Again, it’s a fundraiser so it’s $60 at the door with a deluxe buffet. Former Longhorn all-conference football player Lance Taylor is the Tulsa Exes president and was nice enough to invite me. If you’re in the area, come on out and support a good cause if you can.

    Softball and basketball are categorically different for a female athlete’s future. Softball players need to get their money now because there are now legit pro softball leagues. With the WNBA, there’s another long-term piece to consider for basketball players.

    A few high school highlights of Earl yesterday. Here’s some of Ricky. There are some similarities Neither of these guys shied from contact. Surprising speed and quickness for bigger guys. They finished runs.

    I liked the discussion on why players want to play in a place where the sport matters 365 days a year. It’s hard to articulate the importance/value of that, but Peyton did a good job.

    He chooses his words carefully for sure. It was very funny. Chris Del Conte was showing him around during the SEC kickoff party in Austin and Chris stopped by and chatted with Gerry and I. We took a pic with Sankey and asked him to do the Hook'Em. He refused, said he had to play it down the middle. Good choice. Wonder if Yormark would ever do that?

    Someone needs to get Tom Herman on the record when he talked to Urban Meyer about taking a call from Charlie Strong to be the Texas OC... I'd say cussed out would be a tame description of that Ohio State HC moment.

    Folks have answered the questions appropriately. But the facts are, it means something different to every recruit. For some, it means they're not taking any more phone calls from other schools. For others, they'll still shut it down from taking other visits but take and place phone calls to others. And for others, it means even less. And for some... well, it can mean nothing at all. In other words, it's a player by player term.

    These moves will be commonplace in a couple months, particularly as soon as the lawsuit/settlement is actually approved.

    For all we know this announcement could be anything, including shutting down his recruitment entirely and sticking with Oregon. He has been talking to Texas of late. But we shall see.

    I think Humphrey had a bigger catch radius. I think Terry is a more sudden athlete who also has a nice catch radius, too. Humphrey is a physical mismatch for smaller corners but can get eaten up by bigger ones. Terry is a bit different in that he's more well-rounded IMO.
