Not totally sure how the house settlement works for 2026 recruits. I believe if contracts are written before July 1st you can throw out all “pay for play” deal that doesn’t have to adhere to the house settlement. If that is the case A$M may have offered him too good of package to pass up.

Deloitte is supposed to be the independent organization that monitor whether NIL is legit going forward. The idea is to get rid of “play for pay” and instead pay players for true marketing of their name image likeness. In other words nil would be more like pro athlete endorsement deals.

Not sure rev vs non-rev matters to the donor. I don’t give to Texas one fund to help generate more $ for UT football. I give to help make the program successful. What matters is the whether the people that give the money feel like they received the return on their investment. In the case of NIL, donors are not looking for a monetary return but instead satisfaction from the success of the program they donate to.

I doubt aggy has 9 championships in all of their years since they have been in SEC

Pretty disgusting. Amazing that the players have the motto and just plain stupid that a college player disclosed it as if it was no big deal.

The program is coming off of 2 straight final four appearances, a great rb history with nfl, NIL, Sparks’s offensive reputation, great culture. The reasons are very long why recruits pick UT. The program is in a much position today than anytime over the past 15 years. The running back coach isn’t going to be the sole reason why recruits pick a school.

Wow - that impressive speed at that size. That Adrian Peterson type of size/speed.

Grew up on Zorn Texas (road is named after my family) on a farm. Went to Navarro in Geronimo from kindergarten to 12th grade. Went to UT, graduated in 91. Lived in Dallas for a couple of years where I worked for Arther Andersen and the moved back to Austin in 93. Lived in Round Rock for a couple of years and have lived in Georgetown for 25 years. My wife and son graduated fron UT and my daughter is currently a JR at UT.

Everyone you play from hear on out will be tough. Ohio st has looked very avg at times. Our defense is much better than Oregon with size and speed. We will struggle to run in them. We’ll need to spread them out and make them play in space.
