  1. LFG...Sark don't FA...let's get this show on the road...by the time I look on the board again, there will be more "news"...awesome news...especially if it's QB related...
  2. so who was the "hi?"...lol great call, Gerry
  3. hmmmm...I don't know...usually you play the first 40 games to get yourself in position to make a run...we just didn't make the improvements you need to make once we got there. And the truth is that we had a nasty habit of striking out 10+ times in games...on a regular basis. That's just a sign of a lack of talent, even though it can certainly be argued that most teams out there were LESS talented. We had a FEW guys, Bleyeu, for instance, with some talent that has a chance to go on to MLB in the future. We'll see from here what he does. I'm sure there will be better days ahead, but it will be a while before we see that.
  4. we're certainly not out of it yet, but the truth of the matter is that we regularly SO 10+/game...as if we're facing Nolan Ryan every game. And, of course, the other truth is that you should never underestimate the incompetence of your opponent. Hang in there and let the chips fall where they may. HOOKEM
  5. not with THAT kind of NIL...IMO this one sticks for at least 1 year
  6. oh, well...Gerry was just saying how some of these NIL deals seem to happen outta nowhere fast
  7. Let's reel him in along with Okpala (sp?)...that would be pretty strong
  8. My bet is on K Bryant for the offer. He's a 4 tool player and great at the entire 4 tools. Very Mahomes-like IMO. Of course, the other QBs mentioned are very talented as well.
  9. Name someone less knowledgeble than Ketch. lol
  10. I had Klubnik rated as the top prospect in 2022 in my own personal rankings. I had AntHill as #1 in 2023. Klubnik showed me he could be great from the get. Like Brees, Klubnik had some WR clowns that first year, but now he got some good ones to throw to. I disagree with Bobby, I think he will be the #1 pick in the 2026 draft, barring injuries, of course. See how the off season works? Just a bunch of speculation because that's all we have! lol
  11. the trappings of success happened to Spieth...Scotty is just grounded and focused when the time is right
  12. JMO, but I think we're getting higher caliber RECRUITS, but the team may not be as good as the last 2 Vince teams because now all our best players go to the NFL before the onset of their senior years. So we miss that little bump from the more mature players. For instance, we haven't had a senior QB or RB since Sam left. We DO have a bunch of senior DTs though, since then, so that has helped. It would be nice to have more senior OL, though. Love to hear what Gerry and Jeff say as well.
  13. Sounds like bs to me...but we as fans don't get to see practices, so who knows?
  14. God bless Colt. You are at your closest to God when you are fighting for your life. And Colt is right: when God is ready to take you, then he will take you. I'm sure there are many reading this thread now that can relate. Seeing that picture of him hooked up to those machines brought back memories for me. Being fed intravenously. But I'm more emotional seeing the pictures and knowing what he dealt with than I was for myself. He will recover and be better than ever. God has ordained it.
  15. Good luck to the young man. Setbacks do not have to be the end. I have made what the doctors term a "miracle recovery" from a massive stroke in Nov of 2021. I was told that I would never walk, work, or drive again. Hell, I couldn't even EAT. I do all those things now and at a high level. It takes EFFORT...just be willing to go the extra mile...and prayer. The Longhorn Nation is praying for his full recovery! God bless him.
  16. yeah...it turns out the Aggs are good, so these 2 wins are great for the program. Still a long way to go in the season, but we're on a heater. Both our strengths and weaknesses are on display. And that's a great position to be in.
  17. That's fair. I think he needed more time to heal as well.
  18. I'm happy for him. And since he was taken so late, the pressure will be off as far as expectations THIS year. Of course, if he wants to stay in the NFL, he's got to show that he belongs. The NFL will let him know what he needs to work on and they won't be stroking his ego. Good luck to the young man!
  19. THAT's not being a troll...but the trolls are here to "question" Sark's competence regarding Quinn
  20. the trolls are trying to hang their hat on SOMETHING...and the Quinn thing is all they have
  21. Gerry hasn't commented...but he saw what we saw about Quinn. Quinn made mistakes a 3rd year starter cannot make. And when he fumbled and allowed a TD the other direction in the 4th quarter of a game we had the chance to win against tOSU, that was just one more nail in the coffin. But...I still feel sick about it. He was propped up by so many to be a sure 1st rounder and now we don't even know if he will be drafted. He's got to be devastated.
  22. JMO...but I really think the NFL has gone to 4 tool QBs. Quinn is ONE TOOL. He can pass from the pocket...delivery is a little low, but that aside, when the play breaks down, he tripps over tacklers on the ground, not great at passing on the run, and his running ability is that he doesn't have any running ability. Love the guy...but I'm not sure he even gets drafted, which is a big time bummer. OTOH, the guy I wanted out of HS, Klubnik, will likely be a first round pick next year He can: 1) pass from the pocket 2) escape from the pocket 3) throw on the run when he escapes from the pocket 4) if the DBs respect that pass on the run TOO MUCH, then he can run...and HE FAST Not real sure where Quinn goes from here if he's not even drafted. I hate even thinking about it
