  1. VY, 4th and 5. Is there anything close?
  2. 1 seems like a foregone conclusion, no?
  3. No offence, but who cares? They released a statement which is more than most people do. It sounds amicable and they’re both good people. I think when they release an announcement it’s pretty final regardless of what the legal papers say. Move on, they have.
  4. Hola from Jakarta!! (No idea how to say hello in Indonesian and it rimes in Spanish.). Let’s get the big guy!!
  5. That's tough. Couldn't care less about the aggies, but I feel bad for Owens. He's a hell of a back; hope he's back soon and then transfers to a team with a shot at a championship.
  6. Some pro-level pant-pissing in this thread. Football will be played in the fall and we will be fine. DL recruiting hasn't been great to this point in the cycle. Recruitments are now done in a way that getting the player out of HS isn't as crucial as it used to be, as in many cases they become redshirt freshman with a year of D1 conditioning under their belt as they go into the free-agency known as the portal. How many of the guys we've missed on so far are year 1 contributors on our team? Recruit through the whistle and be the recruit's first choice in their heart, second in their wallets. They will come back to us. Kenny will only be a new coach this year.
  7. I don't panic over these types of things anymore. If he is from Conroe, has only signed for the NIL, let Oregon have him, season him for a year, take the risk on paying the huge sticker price. We will be his next stop if he leaves. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to get them in the first instance, but being second in these recruitments ain't the curse it used to be.
  8. Schloss, where would you rather be?
  9. Great comment on going from a temperature to a thermostat. When guys go through things like Sark did and manage to come out the other side, the maturity and experience is typically pretty awesome. He's a leader with incredible humility making him so relatable to the team and anyone who's been through some shizz. So happy he's our coach!
  10. Oof. Now I have to go back and watch it. I rarely rewatch our losses, but it is the offseason and I'm running out of streaming options...
  11. These early games are brutal in Australia. 12pm = 3am here. Right on the cusp of, 'Do I start drinking late and stay up all night for the game?', or 'Do I get up at 2:30am and start drinking early?'... Either way, I'll be there, but damn.
  12. Sanborn got picked up as an UDFA by Atlanta, but haven't heard on Bush yet. *edit, Bush got signed by the Patriots I believe...
  13. Apparently 4 major campuses at this stage with more likely to jump in with 'mysterious' funding, but that wasn't the question. Anywho, all good. We can just agree to disagree. I think young men, regardless of race, choose campuses for different reasons and some of them are how they are brought up and where. Some prefer the big cities and some prefer a more rural town. The OP who started this whole thing assumes all Black men should want to go to liberal campuses only. All good, I just think people are a little more diverse.
  14. Just a quick follow-up. Do you think the protests happening on campus today with Damonic there will be helpful? If his family are seeing this, do you think they would want him here or in Louisiana? I mean some people thrive on this kind of thing, but if it's my kid, I'm not wanting to send him into that kind of crazy if he has solid options. Not everyone likes mayhem. As previously stated, I don't think it's a huge factor, but it's probably not helping get him to Texas, but hey, what do I know?
  15. I'm not crying, you are! Wish he could have been with the team longer. Outstanding receiver and great young man!
  16. 100% agree on location being a HUGE factor to these kids. Most universities don't have the luxury of being in an amazing city like Austin, so for most kids it's a MAJOR plus if you're going down the list of what makes UT attractive to a kid. I'm not too sure the town the school is in would be far down the list, though. People have misconstrued what I'm saying I think. Replace liberal and conservative with Big City and Small Town or Urban and Rural. Maybe that helps make my point a little easier and gets people past the CNN/Fox News definitions of liberal and conservative. Didn't mean to make this political, though some will still want to push it that way. My main point is that many kids of many ethnic backgrounds prefer to live in more rural environments / towns based on how and where they were brought up. Many of them don't. Pretty simple.
  17. As I said, to each their own. I don't think it's as simple as just saying all young Black athletes will prefer liberal cities. All good, just offering alternative perspectives. For me, there's no way in hell I'd want to go to Norman over Austin, but it happens every year for a lot of young men. I guess we don't have to understand it, just accept that some think differently.
  18. In my experience quite a few. Growing up in a small country town in Texas, a lot of the guys I grew up with (Black, White, Hispanic, etc.) much preferred a smaller town for their university years. Conservative does not equal racist where I'm from, but hey, each to their own.
