  1. Tickets from the Blow U faithful will probably be much easier to aquire
  2. I gotcha here Bobby. Sooners have a lot of issues...Texas has some major issues as well. This is the #1x2 qb Sark has got recruiting. Would anyone say that hes maximized QE or Arch. If this part of the development doesnt improve I dont think that train will continue coming to Texas.
  3. Its gotta be better than the NE to NC debacle. Went from arguably first to maybe the worst hc fall from grace i can ever remember in the coaching ranks. This is Jamarcus Russel #1 draft pick bad.
  4. If Justus Terry plays....explosion.
  5. 27-9 Texas. I just dont see knocked out scoring an offensive touch down. Special Teams finally hears that popping sound and gets their head outa their a##. Texas wears out the laters late 3rd early 4th quarter and the train just gets rollin down the track.
  6. If either of these teams can establish the nonstandard run ie screens itll be a huge difference maker. Slow down de and lbs giving the qb more time in the pocket later on. For me that edge is a huge Texas advantage especially the way wingo has been blocking. 2nd part is penalties. Dont move the chains for the opposing team. Good stuff Jeff. Hook Em
  7. Special Teams can not set you back. Penalties..defense has to force turnovera for short field opportunities for the offence
  8. 65–51–5-1 Texas has the edge all time and now Sarks tenure is going quite well for the Horns. One of the things that happened in the past couple of years is Texas ability to revive all the Rivalry games. Great for recruiting...great for the state...and more than anything else great for college football.
  9. How much has Sarks emphasis recruiting the DFW metroplex cost blowU? Prior DFW kids were picked and chosen by OK thus a lot of those super high rated players built teams for that school on the wrong side of the Red River. Is it because of the emphasis on recruiting or more along the lines of NIL?
  10. I would say top to bottom every sport has a head coach capable of winning at a very high level. Del Conte has done a fabulous job of giving coaches the leeway and resources to compete on every level from locker rooms to practice facilities to fan experience which in turn drives the donor pool. Excited to see what the next couple of years brings.
  11. Great Stuff. Humility and coachability are up there as well. Athletes who put the team before personnel success.
  12. Julien Caldwell out of argyle is pretty darn good. Avg 170 yards receiving a game albeit in 5a.
  13. We will agree to disagree. Hills first game as a pro was 74.4. The rest would not give me a specific number PFF but said that he had regressed in that metric. Again game 1 only as a pro a bit over 60 blitz metric. It also said he was near mid 50s as a run stop. Game 1 only. And while I do agree its championship or bust with this team minus injuries...the defense has had less points scored against more havoc plays and more sacks ( although a skewed number given the game against Tenn.) Throw in that the Texas offense has been less efficient (drives of 4 plays or more) turned the ball over more times and had a higher 3rd and distance than the first 4 games of the seasons 2022-2025. Part of that is coaching...part of it opponents..part dumb luck. This offense should be significantly better than last year given the level of talent + years of exp. With that said 2022: 21.6 PPG (281 total points allowed in 13 games) via Texas Athletics 2023: 18.9 PPG (265 total points allowed in 14 games) via Sports Reference 2024: 15.3 PPG (245 total points allowed in 16 games) via Sports Reference 2025: 20.3 PPG (264 total points allowed in 13 games) via Sports Reference 2026 (Through 4 games): 13.2 PPG (53 total points allowed) via Sports Reference This again can be skewed but there is no doubt that the only defense that performed at or near the current defense is 2024. Lot of football left so lets see how it shakes out.
  14. To keep my bias out of it....here ya go. In the Texas Longhorns' 24-23 comeback win over the Ohio State Buckeyes on September 12, 2026, defensive coordinator Will Muschamp's secondary extensively utilized dynamic "cushion" and "off-coverage" alignments—frequently backing up 10 to 12+ yards off the line of scrimmage—specifically during the second and third quarters. [1] 1. The Strategy: Neutralizing Jeremiah Smith The defensive game plan shifted to this deep alignment to counter Ohio State’s explosive star wide receiver, Jeremiah Smith, who was completely dictating the deep passing game early on. [1, 2] Smith exploded for 8 catches and 164 receiving yards, including a devastating 43-yard touchdown catch against Julian Sayin's passes. To prevent getting burned deep over the top, the Texas cornerbacks and safeties routinely conceded massive underneath cushions, choosing to back peddle deep and tackle after the catch rather than press at the line of scrimmage. [1, 2, 3] 2. The Play Differential and The Adjustment While this deep, 12-yard-off alignment successfully limited Ohio State's vertical chunk plays later in the game, it allowed the Buckeyes to consistently sustain drives via short passes, building a massive 23-3 lead deep into the third quarter. [1] However, the strategy ultimately paid off as the game wore on: The Fourth-Quarter Blanket: By keeping everything in front of them, the Texas defense forced Ohio State into longer, more tedious drives. The Turnaround: In the fourth quarter, the front seven finally collapsed the pocket, allowing the secondary to tighten its constraints. Texas held the Buckeyes entirely scoreless in the final 15 minutes. [1] The Final Play: The ultimate vindication of the deep alignment came on the game's final play, when defensive back Graceson Littleton dropped back into deep coverage and intercepted Julian Sayin to seal the 24-23 victory....yahoo sports Tennessee The Late Breakdown The defensive statistics look incredibly dominant, but the tight coverage finally slipped on Tennessee's penultimate drive. With 1:22 remaining in the 4th quarter, Faizon Brandon finally escaped the pressure and threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Mike Matthews, which brought the score to 20-17. That single 30-yard play was what prompted the coaching staff to pull the secondary back into that ultra-deep, 12+ yard "prevent" alignment on the final drive, ensuring they didn't get beat over the top a second time. I can add the prevent d mentioned later on. Generated by google AI. Guess thats making it up too?? Ref Hill...23 and 24 he had a high blitz rate. 25 when he had Simmons really starting to develop he dropped into coverage a lot.
  15. A more talented team?? Makuba Barron Murphy Sweat Coburn Ojomo Hill Moore..any of those guys ring a bell??? Your photo evidence is on a prevent defense...nice try though. PK rarely if ever played man press. Agreed that Muschamp does not always do it, but he does in spots that gives Texas an advantage. PK defenses were littered with some pretty darn good players. Guys like Simmons and Hill were constantly being dropped into coverage. Blitz rate PK was below 40% every year except 2025 where he was at exactly 40. Muschamp over 40% every game with the exception of Tennessee where a manufacted blitz was not needed. Average plays per game PK just shy of 70 Muschamp 64. That means your offense is getting the ball quicker and defense is not getting burnt up. Havoc rate has increased 3 and outs have increased. Early in the season but the stats dont lie.
  16. Simmons doing what Simmons does. Coulda done without the silly dance. He was letting his n**s hang by just playing his game.
  17. I love my Longhorns but they are not the best team in the SEC right now much less the nation. Great that they are getting notoriety but UGA and UF are playing better ball right now.
  18. There were a couple of occasions I thought this was a B12 officiating crew. Come on man...SEC you gotta be better.
  19. Anyone doubting the difference between a PK defense and a Muschamp defense. This is the difference between a good coach and a championship caliber coach. Puts his guys in a position to win....consistently.
  20. Arch just needs to get back to having fun and enjoying the moment. He has been playing like its a business transaction or writing a resume. Trying to be perfect instead of just being himself. Just my opinion.
  21. Dont think cash is an issue for atm. They have never been able to get out of their own way. Mediocrity is the standard in college station. Aggies gonna Aggie.
  22. At what point do you call thos offense with the amount of talent more than underperforming??? They jave managed to play a total of 5 quarters of decent football all season. The defense has played very well. The special teams are pretty close to a train wreck. Throw in a ridiculous amount of penalties. Texas has a lot of fixing to do.
  23. A good running game is a good passing attacks best friend. Thr biggest issue I see is Arch not trusting what his reads say....second guessing himself. He is pressing. Arch has to find that eff it moment and start believing what he sees and bigger than that trusting himself. To much time trying to be perfect instead of just being himself. Other bits...Texas ball carriers and wrs have to value the ball and avoid turnovers. Further Texas up to the UTSA game was playing fairly cleanly. Penalties have to be kept under control. Ive got no issues with the defense to this point in the season. Opposite Simmons needs to make sure to work outside in to keep rbs from gaining the edge. If Texas can establish the interior run and keep ahead of the chains it will compliment what the Defense is doing. Dont get greedy. Explosive plays are great but wearing down a defense over the course of a game will give you many more opportunities.
  24. Sounds like Texas fans are traveling. That is awesome. Where would a game like this 10 years ago be on the I want to be at that game meter.
  25. Gotta give credit where credit is due even if its with an asterisk. The top 5 or so teams in the B10 are good to very good. The rest are very ho hum. With that being said the B10 has taken home the hardware. The SEC is much more evenly matched. Even bad teams will bite ya if you dont pack your lunch pail and get to work. One distinct advantage of the B10 is an easier schedule while the SEC beats the brakes off of each other. If it were conference v conference the SEC wins. If its best v best at the end of the season...thats a much tougher question.
