  1. I remain a Diego Pavia believer. It's not his talent, it's his leadership and confidence. Vandy will be tough for us. They are killing it on defense.
  2. My SEC+ telecast is a few seconds behind your score keeping. Where are you watching? In Greg?
  3. Duncan for Arky is from Austin Anderson HS and is very good. Did we recruit her?
  4. Been watching. Service errors have kept Arky in the game.
  5. This is my first watch of the year. It seems that Harvey is under utilized from this game. Please comment.
  6. Let me add to the D. Moore chorus. He creates instant impact at every level of pass receiving. He blocks, he runs routes, he is fast, he is tough, AND HE CAN CATCH A BAD PASS. On defense, I caught the communication among Hill, T. Moore, and Simmons when they were playing together. It was among the games within the game that looked like late season form for the first time. I also saw three safeties on the field at once: Taaffe, Jelani, and D. Williams. I did not catch the defense they had been in; for example, were there two CBs and one of the safeties playing in the box? That defensive penalties were cleaned up is half that battle, anyway. Sorry we did not see Jonah as a punt returner. If Arch gets dinged, Caldwell does look like more than a safety blanket. He is a pleasant surprise. Against a cupcake team he looked like OU's Heisman hopeful transfer.
  7. The OL's pass protection has been generally good. This was true last season, as well. I don't understand football well enough to understand how a decent pass blocking line is also a poor run blocking line. I have been led to believe [here] that Neto is a good run blocker but missed assignments as a pass blocker. Am I incorrect in having observed Stroh pass block well and run block poorly? That was what I saw on limited viewing. Is run blocking also a question of OL group assignment soundness, or is it a matter of pure strength and quickness? I hope someone here can explain.
  8. I wish we had Diego Pavia at QB. Then Sark would be a genius.
  9. The disdain for TT on this board may be deserved at some level but it is unworthy as a critique of the ideas posed. The notion that college sports are akin to a public trust is one that I have not previously heard or read, but it is worth considering. The notion that college sports are leaving money on the table negotiating with the TV networks is surely true. The notion that college athletes are under-represented in the process is probably accepted by all of us. The notion that the NCAA bureaucracy does not serve the best interests of collegiate sports is probably accepted by all of us. ------- While the B1G and the SEC would likely be the lead negotiators and greatest contributors and beneficiaries of a revamped system, considering the four ideas and incorporating them does not seem like a bridge too far, IMO.
  10. Sayin did what Arch should have done on 4th down. Arch had Endries.
  11. If he survives the potential of yips in Ohio Stadium we will all breathe a collective sigh of relief.
  12. Would the #1 D practicing against Arch be good for them against Sayin? If they can get to Arch, they should be able to get to Sayin. But if they cannot get to Arch would that mean they cannot get to Sayin?
  13. While trying to think of a dark side to this thanks to Herman, I simply can't!
  14. Randy's wife, Jenna, has written some fine Longhorn lore. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=jenna+mceachern&crid=1276MUOSS75AW&sprefix=jenna+mceachern%2Caps%2C137&ref=nb_sb_noss_1 Shameless hype for some old friends.
  15. Drinking Cafe DuMonde in Austin.
  16. It will work so long as the athletes are still required to attend and pass classes on a reasonable course to graduate. And I think it is inevitable and the only economically feasible solution. If the athletes are actually students getting paid [graduate TAs are students getting paid - it's not an unknown concept] then it remains a college sport. If there are no classroom requirements it becomes a sponsored pro sport.
  17. I think some of Eddie Robinson's teams at Grambling might have been invisible to everyone except the student body and the NFL.
  18. On an 85 man all time Texas roster, say there are 4 QBs. Say VY, Colt, and Layne are 3 of them. Is a #11 the fourth? If you want to stack QBs on that roster, name 4 and 5, (and 6?)
  19. The idea of second guessing. Akina is worth immediately dismissing
