I hope you do - it is the best football atmosphere - totally unique! It is the one game I never miss every year. And the state fair surrounding us is just a bonus.

I’ve enjoyed reading an opposing fans thoughts on such a highly anticipated game. Kudos to you for seeking engagement with the opposition and listening to the best Texas podcast, OTF. From a good friend who is a big supporter & active alumnus of SFA, they were thrilled to join the UT system (which offered around $100,000,000, while A&M offered around $30,000,000). They did not want A&M to purchase them for fear they would take away some of their agriculture programs.

There is mutual respect with OU - they are competitive even when they are not at their best. And, it’s the best game day atmosphere ever. Until we renewed the game I was able to pretty much ignore A&M fans; this year I was reminded how absolutely annoying they can be. I about the lack of equal footing - the financial, academic & record puts us a step above them, making them resent us that much more, as we look down on them.

Thanks for sharing - a good explanation of the shenanigans going on. I predicate some schools are going to have a PR issue when they are unable to provide what they promised players. We may lose some recruits in the short term, but maintaining a reputation of being honest will have long term benefits.
