  1. We're into the 10th round. Once the 10th round is complete, the maximum signing bonus for a draft pick that doesn't count against a team's bonus pool is $150K.
  2. BTW, the next Dallas Card Show is less than a week away. Unfortunately, no Longhorn autograph signers.
  3. Good to know. I didn't get out to the Austin show this year. That's one thing I liked about the Dallas Card Show. A lot more sports than Pokemon/TCG.
  4. As of right now (1 p.m. Sunday), I believe the first post in the thread is update with draft picks and signees who've publicly confirmed that they're pulling out of the draft pool and going to Texas.
  5. As of now, likely one of Crossland, Walls or Winter.
  6. Cole Selvig (Minnesota), another former Longhorn, goes to the Marlins in the sixth round.
  7. Former Longhorn Will Gasparino (UCLA) goes to the Phillies in the fifth round (No. 161 overall).
  8. You're right. I don't know what I was thinking. My bad.
  9. The deadline is 4 p.m. on July 27. We should know something before then.
  10. Yeah, it's not a lost cause for Texas. Peterson has a pretty significant asking price. We'll see what the Astros do.
  11. It's a worthwhile gamble for the Astros. Unless there's a rule I'm unaware of regarding competitive balance picks, the Astros will get the pick back in 2027 if Peterson doesn't sign. So either they sign him, or they get the pick back (which they only got in the first place because Framber Valdez signed with the Tigers in free agency) next year.
  12. For those wondering why they took the Texas Tech outfielder in the first round, this is why. You save on your first-round pick's bonus so you can move some of your bonus pool money down the line. It would be a pretty significant blow if Texas loses Peterson.
  13. Former Longhorn Dee Kennedy, who transferred to Kansas State, just went in the fourth round (No. 114 overall) to the Cardinals.
  14. Two reasons: 1. You want as much leverage as possible when negotiating your contract/signing bonus.\ 2. If something unexpected happens, you've got another option.
  15. I merged two other threads to form the official OTF sports card and memorabilia thread
