  1. McMahon missed both free throws. Lee boards it and is fouled with 1.7 seconds to go.
  2. Consecutive possessions with misses. Texas is up by three, 67-64, with 4.9 seconds left. Booker called for a foul in a block/charge situation.
  3. I did it on the livestream the night before the bowl game.
  4. I wish people knew and/or could see how much Rod works on his craft to give the masses the best possible information. He’s the real deal as a friend/teammate/colleague.
  5. Judd’s three-point play puts Texas up seven, 67-60, with 1:36 to go.
  6. Three possessions in a row with three massive half-court buckets for Texas. This time, it’s Judd.
  7. Ole Miss is tough to put away. That’s a really good team.
  8. @AZ Longhorn, thanks for giving us a shot and, yes, we take hardball seriously around here! I try to be at as many games and press conferences as possible during the season. Plus, when the season starts, Blake, CJ and I will restart our “On Texas Baseball” weekly show.
  9. It sounds like Texas has put itself in a good position with Florida EDGE Jayden Woods. I’m told Woods’ top options currently appear to be either Texas or Oregon if he transfers or a return to Florida (the Gators aren’t giving up).
  10. Proud to keep the legacy of Longhorn Blitz alive alongside the only member of the full-time OTF staff with a licensed NFL rookie card!
  11. At this point, I'd rather see Duru gain some experience than what Texas has been rolling out. Heide took (and missed) one shot in 18 minutes of scoreless basketball. He was minus-10 in the +/- tonight. Codie got a DNP.
  12. I think he's tired of guys who either aren't capable or aren't willing to do what's asked of them.
  13. I think Sean Miller is a really good basketball coach. I don't think folks should give up on him by any stretch. With that said, it's going to be a struggle to get to .500 in SEC play at this rate, making for a tough year. I want to see the guys like Swain, Matas and Wilcher make strides heading into next year.
  14. That's it for Sean Miller and tonight's postgame press conference.
  15. On the upcoming road trips to Tennessee and Alabama, Miller went back to the first half of tonight's game and the Virginia game, when he saw a team that didn't have much confidence. The Longhorns were better in the second half, "but we have to be able to capture that for 40 (minutes)."
  16. Miller said this is the best game he's seen Swain play across the three years he's coached him. "It's a shame it didn't result in a win," he said.
  17. Miller said the Texas defensive issues can be summed up as such: It's like a parent telling your kid over and over not to cross the street. When the kid crosses the street and gets hit by a bus, you take responsibility as the parent, "but dammit," he said, "how many times did I tell you not to cross the street? "We've got some of that going on," he said.
  18. Miller on the defensive issues: "We have to coach guys better in those areas."
  19. When Swain fouled out, Miller said the Longhorns lost some key size and the bigs didn't do as good of a job as they did rebounding tonight.
  20. Miller called it "a stupid basketball play" with how Texas defended Hubbard late in regulation at the top of the key. The player who made the mistake isn't stupid, he said, but "for him to sideways dribble — that was one of the best shots he had all night." Miller said that falls into the category of letting guys off the hook with fouls on shots that we're clean and/or contested looks.
  21. Miller: "We're really struggling at the four position. It is what it is. This is big-time college basketball. We're getting nothing." @Jordan91, to your point about what Heide does when he's on the court.
  22. Miller thought the team had a good week leading up to the game after not playing well against Maryland Eastern Shore. Unfortunately, he said Texas was "very much on our heels" heading into halftime. "Guys have to be more confident, tougher," he said.
  23. Miller on whether or not he'll submit any calls to the SEC for clarification: "I'm not that guy. I don't do that." With that said, he admitted that Swain's fifth foul was "a tough call."
