    ICYMI, Tinney has also been named a semifinalist for the Buster Posey Award, which recognizes the top catcher in the country (he was a finalist for the award at Notre Dame in 2025).

    For the last week of the regular season, Texas catcher Carson Tinney and LHP Dylan Volantis were named SEC player and pitcher of the week, respectively. Tinney's three home runs in a three-game sweep of Missouri put him in the team lead with 20. After seven strong innings on Thursday, Volantis ended the regular season with an 8-1 record and a 2.05 ERA. In SEC play, Volantis went 6-1 with a 2.38 ERA, 76 strikeouts and a .197 opponent batting average in 51.1 innings.
