Probably a critical yet understated part of the early season discussion. Then to start the early season with guys banged up and missing time didn’t help.

We know Moseley was not good to start the season, and that Wingo missed some practice time, but is there more to it than that?

Perhaps the LBs need to forego some aggressiveness in attacking the run to the potential detriment of the pass game. A little LB help could have kept 10 points off the board versus Vandy. That wasn’t really a run/pass type issue although a bit too much concern over a mobile QB is a possibility. Two Vandy TDs were due in part to the lack of contain as well.

Yeah. We all have strengths and weaknesses and they don’t all translate equally within the family. But watch how Arch walks and jogs on the field. He does look quite a bit like Peyton.

There’s nothing wrong with them generally speaking. In my view, they were hypercritical given the circumstances. I don’t go looking for them, it seemed the number for Arch relative to other guys was more. Even Jesse Palmer in game 2 was feeding off the prior. There were 3 plays that he was pretty critical and basically full of it. I have recorded and rewatched games for going on 30 years. There’s always tons of stuff you see on a 2nd and 3rd viewing and sometimes you pause it to see it. Completely different than in real time. Angles matter. Including the tv view versus the end zone view. I suspect the live viewing versus the end zone or all 22 may take some tweets from a live perspective to a more balanced view. There’s often a disregard for throwing lanes. Really there’s tons of nuance that gets forgotten. Regarding the feet. It could be a number of things. Maybe the rush. Maybe inexperience. Maybe that’s a bit of who he is. There may be some because of timing too. He’s made very good throws when less than perfect footwork was in play. He’s not a guy that has to live in the pocket so by nature I’d expect him to vary his mechanics more than some. Playmakers won’t always follow traditional teachings.

I find these pretty interesting in a different way than most. I thought for dang sure Daniel was critical in his earlier review about the double hitch but was singing the praises here. The play discussing the 4th option. Livingstone had 6. This may be a good example of reading the defense. The Film Guy versus OSU wasn’t overly critical but highlighted a missed open receiver when Downs was playing games. You have to read quick so sometimes you will miss because once you move off that route you’re likely not coming back to it. Then he finishes the throw with less than stellar footwork but that’s ok cause it was on target. Believe this is the second critique of being antsy in the pocket. I have vague references about that being a critique of Payton. It may tie into the hitch too so a bit curious if that’s intentional.

Going back in time, but why did Burke only get 13 plays versus UF?

There are likely several reasons for this stat. This may be the distance at which QB pressure is most impactful. Since we’re 3rd and long quite often, we’re likely in this range when forced to be rather than we want to be. Arch is tied for 4th in number of pressures at that distance. Quick math shows of those in the top 5 his pressure rate is the highest. He’s tied for 34th in number of attempts.

Per PFF, Simmons rushes the passer approx 83% of the time. Hill is approx 25%. Gotta keep em guessing.

Well, it’s quite the mystery to me. i believe there were some positives to garner from yesterday regarding Stroh.

More of the abuse has occurred since Stroh was removed. Up to that point, it was just poor pass protection.

People forget or never knew? The key for such a player, really any player, is to be in the right spot for their profile and skill.

Good job kid bringing some positivity. Homecoming, at night probably gave some extra juice too. UF and UK both came off bye weeks. Both a degree of desparation. The MSU game will be more indicative of where we stand.

I’m not involved in those conversations so I don’t know. Sark himself cannot focus entirely on the offense. i think you’re a little overconfident in yourself. One who apparently can’t answer questions for discussion purposes.

Just as thought. Yes or No. If you as an offense/play caller/QB face a different defense than what you prepared for, does that impact any of that?

Is LaNorris Sellers an average QB? Cade Klubnik? Were you salivating over Mendoza last year? Where did that Rourke fellow from Ohio ultimately end up? Who are the above average college QBs? And do you watch every game of those guys?

What qualifies you to state he has no idea how to read a defense post snap? This is absolutely a point in order to make that statement that you need to know the defense they prepared for, what defense they actually saw, and what the actual reads are. Do you know any of the specifics? Did you know that prior to this week when kept clean that he got rid of it quicker than Ty Simpson by 0.2 seconds? And that their overall time to throw was virtually the same? That it was very similar to Caleb Williams overall time to throw. You know the guy that won the Heisman. Arch got pressured far more often but got sacked less frequently per pressure if I remember correctly.

The pass to Moore that he ran out of bounds. More of it Sark. It was open against OU. It was open here. UK showed us a number of simple plays in the pass game. Jet sweeps/ends around to it other than Wingo.

Yeah, the dramatics of this are something. I’m glad he decided to make Wisner evade some tackles.

Speculation on my part, but Sark was playing for a lengthy season. So he thought that we could actually develop the run game versus UTEP that would make us stronger thru seasons end. And that was rational. I thought it was reported that perhaps some of the injured players could have played sooner, but Sark wanted them fresher for the long haul. And for that game, Baxter getting hurt play 1 was big. Think about those missed throws in the UTEP game. I don’t ever remember the miss to Wingo run another time. The Livingstone miss. Haven’t noticed it otherwise. So I do have questions about repetitions in practice to lock down some of those plays. If you question your QBs consistency as many fans are, although I’m not certain on Sarks feelings, but believe he’s a playmaker then you should go heavier on the pass. Then you just need 1 out of every 3 downs to hit to get that next first down.
