  2. John Turntine III visiting Texas in April Fort Worth (Texas) North Crowley OT John Turntine III is making a visit to Texas April 13 per a source close to the recruitment. Turntine, 6-5 and 295, is an OnTexasFootball 5-star prospect in the 2026 cycle. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian and running backs coach Tashard Choice were by the school in January to see the North Crowley prospects, headlined by Turntine. Offensive line coach Kyle Flood has been by the school multiple times. Turntine was offered by Sarkisian and Flood October 23 when on campus for the first time. Turntine attended Texas Junior Day January 20 with his father, former TCU star defensive lineman John Turntine II. The DFW area star entered the spring with offers. The January offer list included Georgia, Texas A&M, Oregon, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Penn State, Arkansas and California.
  3. Don’t think communication has stopped. Texas is hunting bigger bodies … will be interesting to follow
  4. From talking to Brandon and someone close to the recruitment ... SEC definitely preferred in the recruitment. But in the NIL world ... I can't call it a lock. Colin Simmons from day one I ever talked to him said "I'm going to play in the SEC".
  5. Your top DL's in the NFL ... Aaron Donald - high 3-star Chris Jones - 5-star Quinnen Williams - mid 4-star Javon Hargrave - not ranked Jeffrey Simmons - high 4-star Dexter Lawrence - 5-star Cameron Hayward - low 4-star Christian Wilkins - 5-star Jonathan Allen - 5-star Vita Vea - high 3-star D.J. Reader - mid 4-star
  6. Malcom Brown was for sure a 5-star. Of course, there is more to DT recruiting than 5-star's.
  7. Zion Williams is definitely over the ball. Brandon Brown can play both ... similar to Byron Murphy in that regard.

  11. When NCAA updates team statistics after weekend games ... Texas will be top 50 nationally (probably 41st or 42nd) in team three-point percentage, and top 50 in free throw percentage (probably 45th). Both very good numbers for Texas, and close to the numbers I pegged preseason to maximize ... 36.6% from three (my goal was 37-38%) 75.7% FT % (I was lofty at 76-77%).
  12. Joe Lunardi's late night ESPN Bracketology still has Texas a No. 8 seed. https://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/page/bracketology/ncaa-bracketology-2024-march-madness-men-field-predictions

  14. Think Texas will be a 7 with a win over K-State... could go either way right now. Texas would need to beat K-State and Iowa State to get a 6 IMO
  15. If Texas wins the 7 v. 10 game Wednesday, it's No. 2 seed Iowa State Thursdsay

  17. TCU lost to UCF at home. That means No. 7 seed for Texas ... and a game Wednesday vs. No. 10 seed Kansas State. Wednesday 6 pm CT
  18. Texas up to No. 20 in Bart Torvik Ranking after win... https://barttorvik.com/#
  19. Up to spots to No. 23 in Ken Pomeroy from 25 prior to the win https://kenpom.com/
  20. Think they are in the play-in game right now. If Texas beats them again this week, gets interesting for OU depending on what else happens in conference tournaments!
  21. Just me, but I think Texas needs to move on from both. Texas needs better and better offensive basketball players. More natural/instinctive offensive players. I'm highly confident, as of today, Tre Johnson plays one year at Texas.
