  1. gotta get tuned into what is happening...any of this on the golf channel? too lazy to look 😀
  2. Beth Mowins calling this series is the ESPN equivalent of a weather delay. Every time she opens her mouth, the game slows down, the energy dies, and we all get punished for tuning in. She’s going to spend two full games force‑feeding us her Nija obsession like she’s narrating a one‑player sport. Texas could be up 12–0 in the third and she’d still be in the booth whispering about Nija like she’s reading bedtime stories to herself. At this point I’m convinced ESPN doesn’t assign her to games - they sentence her to them
  3. Texas in Game 1 AND the Spurs in Game 1 on Wednesday… I’ve already warned my family not to talk to me after 6 PM. I’m treating this like a double‑header national holiday. If both teams win, I’m declaring myself medically unavailable for adult responsibilities.
  4. Said in another thread: Tennessee winning their bracket doesn’t give them some magical +1 life or some “Texas must beat them twice” advantage. If Texas wins our bracket, we’re in the finals. Period. The ONLY reason anyone has to beat Tennessee twice is because the championship series is a best‑of‑three. That’s it. It has nothing to do with bracket records, nothing to do with Tennessee being “undefeated,” and nothing to do with who’s rested. Double‑elimination ends the second the finals start. Both teams reset to zero losses. Both teams need two wins. So no - Texas doesn’t have to beat Tennessee twice to get to the finals. We only have to beat them twice if we want to win the national title, which is literally the same requirement for Tennessee. Everyone starts even in the finals.
  5. Anyone watch the Texas Tech and UCLA game? The automatic stadium sprinklers unexpectedly turned on in the bottom of the 8th inning, causing a hilarious delay on the field. But the Hidden cameras detailed what actually happened.
  6. Yeah, Florida better step up their game - assuming they can find it first.
  7. Texas wins, and the booth still behaves like they’re legally obligated to narrate Jordy’s life story. It’s almost impressive how completely they ignored the team actually advancing - like they were calling a memorial service instead of a softball game. And Mowens… that voice isn’t ‘energetic,’ it’s industrial‑grade noise pollution. It hits the ear like a fire alarm that learned English. ESPN didn’t broadcast the game; they just blasted static over it
  8. Sure, Tarleton’s seen him and UCSB has a whole season of film - that’s not really the point. There’s a difference between ‘they’ve scouted him’ and ‘we just let them watch him throw 84 pitches in real time the night before they might face him.’ Coaches don’t usually volunteer that kind of live look in a 13–0 game unless they have to. And yeah, I get the Ruger shoulder hedge and the Riojas insurance angle - that actually makes more sense than the scouting argument. But that’s kind of my point: if they’re worried about tomorrow’s arms, it means they’re stretching Volantis because they don’t trust the rest of the plan, not because this is some ideal scenario. It’s still a weird amount of work for a blowout. Not trying to argue with you Jeff, just feel this is kind of weird. And back in the Sandy Koufax days, yeah, he’d have thrown 180 pitches and then asked for the ball tomorrow - but that was before sports science, analytics, and common sense existed 😃
  9. Sure, 84 ‘low‑stress’ pitches is fine - I’m not saying the guy is out there suffering. I just didn’t expect them to let him chew through that many in a 13–0 game. At some point it’s less about saving the bullpen and more about ‘why are we giving the entire regional a full scouting report on him tonight.’ But hey, if he’s truly shelved until Monday, I guess they’re comfortable letting him rack up the cardio.
  10. Yeah I get the ‘don’t burn the bullpen’ angle- totally fair. I was just surprised they’re still running him out there up 13–0. At some point it stops being about saving arms and starts being about not showing the entire regional your Friday guy for 7+ innings in a blowout. But hey, if he’s not pitching again this weekend, I guess they’re fine letting him finish the job
  11. If you’re looking at Medaka for your first tank, you’re already ahead of the curve - Awesome choice. They’re super hardy, peaceful, and way more forgiving than guppies or tetras. No heater needed indoors, and they stay active instead of hiding all day. They also come in a ton of colors, and breeding them is stupid‑easy since they’re egg layers. A simple 10–20 gallon tank(still would prefer bigger) with a sponge filter and some floating plants is all they need. For tank mates, keep it chill: shrimp, snails, small rasboras, white clouds, or other Medaka strains. Just skip anything big, nippy, or hyper - they’re peaceful fish, so keep the neighborhood peaceful too. My first venture was>>>Endler’s Livebearers - Super colorful, super chill, and they don’t bully anyone, Cherry Barbs - Red, bright, active, and not jerks like other barbs and Nerite Snails - Not fish, but perfect cleanup crew and zero drama. WARNING, Endlers will give you babies whether you ask for them or not 😀
  12. Got you - that makes a lot more sense. And yeah, I agree the public layer adds noise he probably wishes he didn’t have to deal with. The only thing I was pushing back on is the idea that the NFL would’ve treated it differently behind the scenes. The file was always going to land on a GM’s desk either way. But I get what you meant - the spotlight definitely doesn’t make his situation any easier
  13. @CJ Vogel 1) Which of these guys actually stands out to you on film, and what trait jumps off first? 2) Who do you think fits Muschamp’s scheme the best and why - interior disruptor or edge‑to‑tackle tweener? 3) Wyms is productive but undersized - do you think that caps his ceiling or does the motor override it?
  14. Access isn’t destiny. Most guys don’t light the match
