  1. Texas didn’t just sign a good player in South - they signed a left‑handed catcher who hits like she’s trying to tear the cover off the ball and runs like she’s late for class. Yeah, she’s a lefty behind the plate, and some folks get weird about that - but when you’re dropping a .620 average, 23 bombs, 20+ steals, and playing clean defense, those ‘concerns’ turn into other teams’ problems real fast. Stevie South is a unicorn. Nobody else in the country is bringing in a lefty catcher with that kind of production. That’s not recruiting - that’s theft. While other programs brag about ‘solid signees,’ Texas is adding a kid who could start for half the SEC tomorrow. Mike isn’t rebuilding....he’s stockpiling weapons the rest of the league can’t even shop for. speaking of lefty's, let's get that lefty pitcher from Texas State.....😀
  2. she is really good....could become a freshmen starter
  3. Think you’re mixing up two different things: (1) how many hours UT accepts vs. (2) how many hours UT will actually apply to your major. UT doesn’t cap transfer hours at 60. You can bring in 90, 100, 117 - whatever. The issue is that UT requires 50% of your major coursework to be completed at UT, not 50% of your total hours. So the “lost” hours aren’t thrown away by policy - they just don’t fit into the degree plan because the student already used up too many major‑specific slots somewhere else. That’s why juniors get squeezed: they’ve already taken upper‑division courses that UT won’t substitute for its own major requirements. Freshmen/sophomores slide in clean. Grad transfers slide in clean. Juniors are the ones who hit the wall. It’s not a hard cap on 60 hours - it’s a major‑specific residency requirement. That’s why White targets players with two years left. It’s structural, not philosophical.
  4. Look, everyone’s circling pieces of the truth here, but the actual situation is pretty simple: UT accepts your transfer credits, but that doesn’t mean they all apply toward a UT degree. That’s the whole ballgame. Texas requires you to complete 50% of the hours for your major at UT. That’s why freshman and sophomore transfers slide in clean, grad transfers are easy, and juniors are the ones who get squeezed. It’s not that UT “throws away” credits - it’s that a junior who already banked 60–75 hours may suddenly only have room for 30–40 of them to count toward a UT degree plan. That can absolutely add a year. This is exactly why White usually targets players with two years left. It’s not a mystery, it’s math. As for Swan: She graduated early, she’s a grad transfer, and she’s reportedly been accepted to UT Law. None of that has anything to do with the undergrad 50% rule.
  5. Is this true? I would have guessed LB Jhadyn Nelson
  6. We could pack more people in if we wanted to. We don’t need a new stadium. We need Texas to stop flirting with expansion like it’s a summer crush and finally put a ring on it. The Disch was literally designed to be built out - the bones are already there. Tonight just proved (again) that Texas baseball can pack 9–10k when it matters. So no, we don’t need to bulldoze anything. We just need to finish the expansion the architects drew up a decade ago instead of acting like 8,550 is some kind of ceiling. The only thing holding capacity back right now is Texas deciding it’s time to act like the program that just set the NCAA attendance record at the Disch.
  7. That was a Sandy Koufax drop off the table ball....he wasn't hitting that.
  8. can't wait for Monday to get here 😀
  9. You’re blending three different concepts and acting like they’re the same thing. We were talking about reaction time. Reaction time is purely distance ÷ velocity. Ball size doesn’t enter the equation unless you think circumference bends spacetime 😀
  10. That’s all true, but it doesn’t change the stat. White’s teams have handled Glasco’s teams for years, regardless of zip code or friendship. Personal connections don’t erase patterns on the field. The record is what it is.
  11. CDC and White having a good laugh when White asked CDC "Is my new staduium going to be ready next year?"
  12. @GoHorns1 pretty much said it above White’s already said he’s selective in the portal because Texas actually recruits and develops elite kids. If you’re signing top‑10 classes every year, you don’t turn around and portal over them - that’s how you kill your own pipeline. And he’s right: if recruits think you’re just going to replace them with mercenaries, they’ll stop coming. Tech’s model works only as long as the money hose stays open. They’re basically renting other schools’ finished products. No top recruit is choosing that over a place that actually develops players. White will portal, but he’s not doing the “replace half the roster” thing. He’ll be targeted - probably a pitcher, maybe a bat, maybe a utility defender. Someone like Luna from Texas State is exactly the profile: proven, experienced, and doesn’t block your blue‑chip freshmen. Texas will add needs, not a whole new team...going to guess Texas adds 2–3 transfers, not 6–8.
  13. We will find out starting Monday...portal opens
  14. Gotta side with the reaction‑time guy here. The whole point was how fast it gets on you, not how many inches it has to wiggle on the way in. A 70 from 43’ is still on the hitter quicker than a 92 from 60’6”. The ball being bigger doesn’t magically slow time down, and ‘less distance to curve’ doesn’t make it easier to hit - unless we’re just making up physics now.”
  15. watched both the Texas and the Texas Tech post game interviews Gerry Glasco said some nice things about Texas, White and Kavan
  16. For those wanting to know, for NCAA Division I softball-----the official transfer portal window will open this coming Monday(June 8th) , and closes on Monday(June 22nd). ---15-day period.
  17. I was trying to make that sound like a joke...but i guess that failed 😄
