  1. And stats won't get Colin to New York by himself. It's unrealistic to expect him to produce every game like he did Saturday vs. the Vols, but he needs to bring it every week. And by bring it every week, he has to be a menace vs. OU, A&M, Florida, Ole Miss, and LSU. The OU OL has stunk so far and it's a big rivalry game. Same with A&M. The games vs. UF and Ole Miss will be huge national TV games. Same goes for LSU, but even more since the Tigers have Jordan Seaton, who is the top OT Colin will face this year. Guys like Suh, Young, and Hutchinson were all pretty much unstoppable during their Heisman finalist seasons and showed up in pretty much every game. Only game I can really think of where one of those guys didn't is when Hutchinson got manhandles by UGA in the playoffs but that game took place after the Heisman ceremony. If I'm being honest I don't think Colin has any chance to win it with him being a defensive player, but he definitely has a chance to make it to New York which would be an amazing accomplishment.
  2. Defensive line/edge rushers to make it to New York in the last 20 years - 2009 - Nebraska DL Ndamukong Suh - 85 total tackles (52 solo), 20.5 TFLs, 12 sacks, 1 INT, 1 FF in 13 games (Nebraska played UT in B12 Championship) Mark Ingram won over Suh, Colt McCoy, Tebow, and Toby Gerhart. Suh finished 4th in the Heisman *** 2019 - Ohio State DE Chase Young - 46 total tackles (32 solo), 21 TFLs, 16.5 sacks, 6 FF, 3 batted passes in 11 games (OSU played in B10 Championship but Young was suspended two games in November). Joe Burrow won over Young, Jalen Hurts, and Justin Fields. Young finished 4th in the Heisman *** 2021 - Michigan DE Aidan Hutchinson - 62 total tackles (36 solo), 16.5 TFLs, 14 sacks, 3 batted passes, 2 FF, 1 FR in 13 games (Michigan played in B10 Championship) Bryce Young won over Hutchinson, CJ Stroud, and Kenny Pickett. Hutchinson finished 2nd in the Heisman *** I know this isn't an exact science and is obviously a hypothetical, especially with 8 SEC games remaining, but if you triple Colin Simmons stats through 4 games: 36 total tackles (27 solo), 25.5 TFLs, 21 sacks, 3 FF, 3 FR in 12 games. Those numbers would put Simmons 4th on the list in tackles, 1st in TFLs, 1st in sacks, 2nd in FF, and 1st in FR.
  3. Pretty cool. RIP Ced Benson
  4. I wish I had more but there isn’t anything new on him that we haven’t already reported. Texas has the commitment, LSU and Florida still big threats. More LSU than UF
  5. I think Texas will be just fine holding on to Tu’upo’s commitment
  6. Both of them combined are probably in the 1.5-2M range. Would take a lot. Both have yet to visit Texas as well
  7. He wants to be a one high safety that can roam and Texas sees him as more of a box safety/guy who plays closer to the LOS
  8. Dorsey was so awesome at Under Armour Atlanta. I think he has a better chance to stick at safety than Sneller
  9. If you’re talking about OU’s CB Courtland Guillory, I highly doubt he’d end up at Texas if he went in the portal. Also, OU kinda has to ride it out with Venables. And Court is a Venables guy so I dont really see him going in the portal unless something wild happens
  10. lol if he ends up coming back to college but goes in the portal I’d put $ on him ending up at Miami, LSU, Ole Miss, Tech, or Ohio State
  11. Guys I think Texas could end up reaching out to: OU’s class - CB Gabe Osborne - terrific prospect but unlikely to flip regardless of how bad things get in Norman. CB Trent Blaylock - I’d be pretty surprised if he flipped, or at least as long as his brother is there. S Jaiden Fields - this is a maybe. Fields is a local product at Hutto that has been on the Texas radar for a long time but has not been offered. Plays WR and S in HS and has had a really good start to his senior season. A&M’s class — S Kamarui Dorsey - A&M went super high on the $ package to get an early pledge from the Peach State native over Georgia and several others. Tremendous prospect but very low chances for Texas like Osborne imo. S JayQuan Snell - Would also be really surprising. Texas and him aren’t on the same page positionally. OT DeMarrion Johnson - Johnson committed to A&M in August of his junior year but has visited Texas 5 times since. He hasn’t been back to Austin since the Fan Day in April but he probably wouldn’t need another visit to flip since he’s already been on campus so many times. I also want to clarify we haven’t heard the ball is rolling towards a flip but that doesn’t mean it can’t. LB Mikahi Allen - Was supposed to OV to Texas in June but he never made it in. Is a teammate of Texas TE commit JT Geraci in New Jersey. Texas still needs LBs and Allen is a guy the staff is already familiar with.
  12. Love this. Is there a way to track how we do throughout the season on top of the week by week leaderboard?
  13. actually loled at this
