  1. Great thread! thanks!
  2. Hoping to avoid as much rain as possible Thursday-Saturday nights this fall. Don't know if there's a worse feeling covering a game than hearing the lightning alarm go off. Makes me feel old since we used to celebrate when it went off during practice growing up
  3. Would probably have to be in a better location but it'd be awesome if Bevo Blvd/the surrounding stadium area turned into something like what the Toronto Raptors have where there's a big watch party right outside their arena
  4. I'm a huge Ty'Anthony Smith fan from covering him during his recruitment but hard to not go with Tre Wisner (who later switched to No. 5). The rival killer will be missed. Also worth mentioning I'm 23 years old and didn't get to see a lot of other 26s who will be brought up
  5. Best football ahead of him for sure. It's important to remember last year was his first and only season playing football and he currently only has 11 games under his belt. He was supposed to play as a sophomore but the UIL ruled him ineligible and playing sub varsity would've been unfair so he sat out and practiced each week. Should take a decent jump from junior to senior year
  6. I've heard Gilmer is going to get him the ball some as a senior. Now, how much will it be? I have no idea, but several people have told me he will get handoffs and passes thrown his way. Can't wait to see normal HS kids try to tackle his 6-foot-6, 340 pound frame. OTF will be on the road to see him two weeks from Thursday when Gilmer opens the season with an away game at Longview Pine Tree on Aug. 27
  7. Agreed. I think he's the most talented WR and highest draft potential of any WR Texas has had since Roy
  8. Thought it was AI or fake when I first saw it. Unreal
  9. I get what you're saying but I like Derrek Cooper more for that short yardage role. Not trying to take anything away from MT3 and hoping he finds success in Austin, but the constant reporting of him needing to be a more physical runner is for a reason.
  10. Unless injuries happen, it's hard to imagine him having a big role this year considering Raleek Brown, Hollywood Smothers, and Derrek Cooper can do a lot of the same things he can do if not better. I think next season will be the first opportunity for him to have a big role with Brown gone and Smothers likely gone as well imo. And by big role I mean finishing in the top 2-3 RBs on the team when it comes to touches and snap count
  11. I know he’s not a Longhorn anymore, but DMO continues to carry himself in a great way while speaking highly of Texas QBs and figured I’d share
  12. Brooks has some decent points, but one thing I could never stop thinking about last year was how it took until the 9th game of the season (Vandy) for the starting lineup to consist of the most experienced bunch (Goosby, Hutson, Robertson, Campbell, Baker). How did that happen
  13. As long as there isn't anything revealed schematically, I think it'd be kinda cool to open a practice or two up to fans. Just have them run routes on air or do one on ones or even 7on7. You could sell a lot of tickets and keep it to an hour then when the fans leave actually practice plays and installs, etc.
  14. Get this guy a jersey asap
  15. No doubt. But also, why does the UIL allow 5A and 6A schools to practice with pads in the spring but 4A and below can't? He obviously broke rules, but why do those rules exist in the first place?
  16. Makes me think of this tweet lmao
  17. Cain left Texas and spent a year at UNLV before playing his final season last year at Liberty. He went undrafted and seems to be out of football. It appears that he's since started an organization called Bayou Boys that focuses on providing camps and resources for kids in his hometown New Orleans. Cain held his second annual camp in July and had several other former college and NFL players there coaching including fellow NOLA native and Texas RBs coach Jabbar Juluke. Pretty cool. You can check their website and social media out below https://www.bayouboys.org https://www.instagram.com/bayouboysorg?igsh=ODIzNGMwY2ttaWhs

  19. DJ Jacobs also has a younger brother named Dawson that's a DL in the 2028 class. Not quite as highly ranked, but a good 4-star IDL prospect with offers from every school in America. I'd expect both brothers to take visits together this fall. It'll be interesting to track because DJ will frame those visits as mainly being for Dawson, and I'm not saying they're not, but it'd be stupid to believe these schools won't make an effort to flip the No. 1 EDGE in America if he's on their campus and it'd be just as stupid to think Jacobs won't hear them out in some capacity. DJ has said he's locked in with Ohio State but he's still engaging with several programs like Miami and Tennessee and Texas is obviously in the race as well. Jacobs has only been on campus once in the past for an unofficial visit for the Texas A&M game so a return visit to Austin would be huge.
  20. Posted in another thread, but Dylan Sampson is kinda where I'm leaning. Sampson likely has a longer wing, but similar frames. 2024 SEC offensive POTY at Tennessee
