I’m not sure how “unhealthy coping mechanisms” needs to be addressed. By your own definition they’re unhealthy. Whether you’re getting high or getting drunk regularly/daily, neither are good coping mechanisms.

You have them.

I am not a businessman, but I do find it interesting that the role this place (and others like it) play in the lives of many subscribers. It is more than a service it is kind of a virtual community/pub that exists around a shared interest blurring the line between business and belonging. Subscribers have at times a real connection to this community and so would argue that bond is your greatest asset, and is the core service you provide. I would say if it is run in a way that feels more transactional/anonymous while still helping the business could begin to chip away at that bond. Bobby, I think you guys do a great job of walking the line on that (I don’t know your financials, but given the hiring and opening a physical location you are doing it seems things are going well) to where the business does well and still honors a pub-like feel with subscribers. I say all of this to say that if you were ever put in a position to where you needed to make hard choices on the business that would erode the atmosphere you have created -or- make difficult personnel decisions that you would rather not do if not for financials, then I think you have enough goodwill among the base to cover any gap/deficit.
