Mack Brown’s biggest downfall in college football (not only) was that he was too honest of a guy. I’ll take it. He could have lied to guys during recruiting and stacked talent that way in an era before commonplace transfers and player autonomy. Many in our fanbase would have preferred that over honesty. Guy is a legend in my book and receives way too much slander from the Texas fanbase. -

Guess mine was 1977. We had lost 5 or 6 in a row. They were wearing T shirts to the rally on Commerce saying Who is on top now and OU is Switzerland. We knew they were cheating big time and that made the streak worse. Remember Earl taking it to house to give us lead from around 20 yards out. And late game being back up on own goal line having to punt and Russell E. sent one in to orbit with Freddie Nixon catching it over his shoulder inside their 20 . It was so high we had gunners down there to take him down. That day was one of greatet punting and field goal performances I have ever seen. I had been screaming the whole game saying things i should have been kicked out for. James Street was about 10 seats from me and remember him walking by and slapping on the chest saying way to go buddy. Next year buddy of mine made a T shirt for me to wear to the rally. I miss the rally. On front it said OU is Shitzerland and on back it said Texas 13 OU 7. Who is on top now jackass.

Easily the Jamaal Charles run in 2005. That brutal five year losing streak seemed like an eternity, spanning the entire time I was at UT. Before that run it was a close game and I think we had fumbled or something just before, and it felt like we were about to fall apart again. Then Charles was just gone and it was never close. -

Hot Take Monday: Cam Coleman
Here for the Wins replied to jcash02's topic in On Texas Football Forum
It’ll be a combination of all things. Versus UTSA, he a go route down the sideline. The ball is on him, no catch. On the goalline, he has a slant for a TD, but the Cb whips him. His path to the ball versus Ohio State, versus Tennessee weren’t the smoothest. I really have no idea how fast he is. And retrospectively many of highlights were with him making great catches against decent coverage. So not real sure he’s a great separator. If anything Cam should be upset? Not really. Wingo 25 targets, 19 catches, Mosley 12-21, Coleman 12-20. He’s been here the shortest time so it wouldn’t be surprising his rapport with the QB is less than the other two. He was brought here to help win it all. That’s still on the table. -

I started 0-5 in 2000 man. That 2005 game was erotic. When our OTF boy BRob crushed Bomar and Rod tumbled it back all the way I lost it emotionally. - Today

Apparently the grilled cheese place in the food court is legit. I plan on giving them a try this year. -

1983. OU RB Marcus Dupree came into the game wanting to repeat his dominate 1982 performance. The Texas defense was ready. The play of the game was when Dupree took the handoff and was met by Richard Peavy. The hit was heard around the stadium. Dupree slowly got up and wandered towards the Texas defensive huddle. He was taken off the field and as far as I remember he never carried the ball for OU again. Meanwhile, Texas Freshman RB Edwin Simmons got the job done for Texas having a 100 yds rushing along with 2 TDs. Final: Texas 28 - OU 16

Mack was a former Sooner doing an inside job at the time. -
This is my 20th in a row and 26/27. It’s the most special day of the year.

Amazing recap. Thanks for that. When you said OU’s quarterback was handcuffed I actually didn’t read it as a metaphor the first time.

OTF Premium Arch Manning at media today
PaulieD replied to Hank South's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Agreed. I am willing to bet that coaches and family interacted with Arch to get him in the right place - to be Arch, ie the Michigan game. -
I actually would like to see Cam in more of a H back scenario, he's a tall target and would be great in intermediate routes.
