  1. Past hour
  2. Wasn’t eligible because of fall transfer but she is enrolled at Texas is my understanding.
  3. Gonna be fun whipping Skip's beloved Oklahoma Sooners in Dallas in four months.
  4. I believe we got a really pitcher transfer from Oklahoma that had to sit out a year. We should. We should be good with pitching.
  5. IMO, she didn't do anything more than those other pitchers mentioned above. She obviously contributed, but so did many others. She benefited financially from Cody and friends trying to buy their spot as a top tier athelic department and good for her. To say that she took a bunch of nobodies to the title game is a stretch considering the tampering involved and the All-Americans they paid for and put around her. Anyway, Horns are back to back champs and that's what's important 🤘
  6. We will find out starting Monday...portal opens
  7. So, Texas wins the title, I am excited. My first thought wasn't "Let's watch the celebration." It was, "Where's the Texas Tech press conference?" Obviously, this may be the sports version of schadenfreude. I'm not talking about enjoying personal pain or attacking players. That's different. Not hatred. Not wishing bad things on anyone. Just a morbid curiosity to see what the losing side has to say when the season ends one game short. There's a raw honesty that comes out when people are dealing with disappointment. Sometimes you learn more about the game from the team that lost than from the team that won. You hear the respect they have for their opponent. You hear the regret. You hear the pride in what they accomplished despite the loss. And sometimes you hear the pain of knowing they were so close to a championship that can never be recovered. I can't decide if this makes me a terrible person or a completely normal sports fan.
  8. Any idea if Mike White is active or if they have visits lined up for portal players yet? @Blake Munroe
  9. I believe Texas will start to spin the wheels of $$ to keep the softball program at this current level
  10. I’m not sure what her status exactly is, as she hasn’t been with the team for a while and disappeared off the roster so I would keep her name written in pencil for next season.
  11. Texas spent a LOT on retention. And rightfully so.
  12. I think from what I’ve seen out of them Wells is a better hitter but Doty is a better pitcher. Both are very talented though and have the ability to do both. Though I think it might be hard for Doty to find ABs once we pick up some portal bats and if Lawson comes back healthy.
  13. No one said she was the tip of the spear and I didn’t even say she was the best Kavan definitely showed how it’s done 2 years in a row. I said tip of the hat to Canady in a show of respect and said she did help put eyes on sport for these women. There’s a difference in saying she did well versus saying she did “nothing for the sport” when being one of top pitchers of her time isn’t a small feat. She couldn’t beat us, we got to prove that twice when it mattered but no need to sit here and bash her was my point.
  14. I’ve been hearing for several years that Texas Softball has very little NIL and doesn’t spend compared to other schools. I thought that would change after last year but it didn’t and Texas lost out on several players in the portal because of money. Texas wanted Desire Spearman, Taylor Pannell (pitcher), Dakota Kennedy, Jazzy Burns, and Tallen Edwards and didn’t get a single one because they were outbid. I don’t understand this. It’s infuriating. It also concerns me that other schools will try to poach Texas players and offer them more money. Tech spends. A&M spends. Oklahoma spends. Texas should be spending.
  15. The Tech coach reminds me of the late comedian Buddy Hackett who used his speech impediment as part of his act.
  16. Today
  17. Gotta side with the reaction‑time guy here. The whole point was how fast it gets on you, not how many inches it has to wiggle on the way in. A 70 from 43’ is still on the hitter quicker than a 92 from 60’6”. The ball being bigger doesn’t magically slow time down, and ‘less distance to curve’ doesn’t make it easier to hit - unless we’re just making up physics now.”
  18. That isn’t true. Just look at are recruiting class
  19. Heard on the broadcast last night that Mike White coached teams are now 14-4 against Jerry Glasco coached teams. Not gloating but just an interesting stat.
