Texas looked perfectly fine vs Texas State. Then they had to have a heavy weight bout and got an emotional win vs Ohio State. Bit banged up and sloppy on offense vs UTSA, then similarly on the road vs Tennessee. I think this was just destined to go this way. I do not think any serious contender has had a more challenging 4 game stretch in the country.

You’re not wrong. And yet, Texas cannot get out of its own way. The offense looks like a complete disaster most of the time, this team consistently plays sloppy, undisciplined, stupid football. It’s a testament to just how talented and how high of a ceiling this team has (along with the dominance of Muschamp’s D) that they are 4-0 against a tough schedule despite it all. I think people are frustrated because we can SEE how dominant this team can and should be. And maybe they will get there.

Totally agree with this sentiment 👏🏿! Texas has earned everything so far. Now the offense has been inconsistent at times, but Texas has met the moment everytime.

Especially with Georgia. They’ve played two cupcakes and probably the SEC’s two worst teams in Arkansas and OU. Florida has played two cupcakes, shootout with a mid Auburn team, then caught Ole Miss on the road after an emotional win and without their starting RB. Meanwhile, Texas downs Ohio State and Tennessee on the road and people are writing them off. It’s honestly quite annoying being a Texas fan, because you have to hear the biased media, then you have to hear Texas’ own fans completely disregarding the reality that is difference in SOS

I don’t agree with this. No one else has been challenged like we have. We haven’t dominated, but when we had to perform , we did: 2nd half against OSU, answering score against Tennessee, shutting them down after the onside kick. When someone else does that against quality opposition, then they can make a case. Until then, I won’t apologize for our being No. 1.

Quite possibly because he doesn’t believe in QB run or dual threat QBs (although to his credit he does seem to be evolving a bit on that), and his arrogance about the superiority and complexity of his offensive system preclude him from shaping his offense around his personnel and their strengths until they inevitably fail and he has to adapt in order to not lose several games. So, yes, I think it is very possible that Sark would have never won a championship with Vince in college. I think he is an amazing head coach and CEO and recruiter, and in general he does have a brilliant mind for offensive innovation. But he is mediocre at QB development (although that might just be a Milwee issue) and he is horrible at maximizing his talent. There is no excuse—NO EXCUSE—for an offense this talented to be as putrid as it is. That is an indictment on Sark, not Arch, not the OL.

If what you say is true, would Sark had ruined Vince Young like Fisher and Norm Chow did in Tennessee?

Not just that—Sark has taken two #1 overall recruits at QB and they have somehow regressed under him. You can quibble about whether they were overrated coming out of high school, but the consensus was that Quinn and Arch were future #1 overall draft picks. He is so stubborn about his QBs adapting to HIS system instead of trying to maximize his QBs’ strengths. He has already forgotten the lesson from last year, which was let Arch be Arch. So why would anyone think that he wouldn’t do the same to Kamario?

How many teams have played two teams with defenses of Ohio State and Tennessee’s caliber? I’m not talking about the teams like Ball State playing for checks. Texas’ offense has been challenged by two very good defenses and got the stats that matter: 2-0. Also- zero help from the defense in those two games via turnovers. Texas offense has been in survival mode. They will gel and improve, get guys back healthy.
