Average recovery time is 4-8 weeks, but they can probably give him stuff to get him on the field if they have to. Or so I hear. A 326 lb left tackle putting weight on that is going to be painful and you don't want to do that if you can avoid it. If it's in a weight bearing part of the knee, he's not going to play.

There is no structural damage, so the only limiting factor will be pain. There was no report of ligament or cartilage damage, so I would assume the hyperextension was minor and the only damage was the bruise. Let's hope he's a fast healer and the swelling and discomfort rapidly subside with rest and the best orthopedic treatment on the planet.

Magic, Kareem, Worthy, Scott, Rambis, West, Wilkes and Thompson met with Kobe before game 7 of the 2010 Finals and told him nothing matters more than beating the Celtics. -
Some might not be experts, but there are a lot of doctors on this board . Probably a good place to get info. Not my particular speciality, so I abstained from speculation . We do have a lot of advanced recovery therapies available these days . But hard to tell timeframe. Good news considering though. No ligament damage
