25-26 Director's Cup Thread
nozatx replied to DirectorsCupUpdates's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Thanks for the nice updates, @DirectorsCupUpdates. It's unlikely to matter (but after last year, who knows), but the predicted score for UT M Golf looks from past results to be 82.5 instead of 83. It feels like match play should be treated like the end of a bracket sport, but it doesn't seem to be, -
Super excited we're on to the Supers! Super concerned about our bullpen. I was thinking in both the Holy Cross game and the Tarleton St game that Schloss should have gotten Burns, Lefew, Crossland and Cozart a little work to knock the rust off, even just a batter or two each. Apparently Burns didn't need it, the others did. As pissed as I was at the time, I'm relieved we overcame numerous mental errors in the game, Mendoza losing track of the pitch count and stealing third remarkably worked in our favor for a much needed insurance run.

Looked at the Vols sites and they say it's not true as of yet. So maybe still worth watching.

Lubbock the armpit of the universe.
-
If true, will end up in Lubbock.
-
I saw that yesterday and than I saw another Tennessee person say it wasn’t true
-
Wow. That’s a big loss. He has a ton of talent.

Not sure if already posted, but just saw this article: https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/5-star-edge-rusher-dismissed-from-top-sec-program-report/ar-AA24vrAi?ocid=socialshare

I think you answered your own question. In this day of NIL, I still think that it would be hard to leave your college team for another, face them and lose to them. A lot harder than pro athletes, IMHO.
-
Hmmmm. Maybe someone on Tenn team said something but not the coach. Too bad, shake it off.
-
A lot of nonsense over nada. A big nothing sandwich!!!
-
Not sure why this girl would make a claim like that. Pretty clear what was not said from the available video footage. Nothing to gain there other than perhaps wanting to look like a victim.

Thanks for sharing. I missed watching it live. Our 8's were incredible. I couldn't tell why, but the start probably wasn't their plan. Yet they almost won with open water and nearly 3 second margin. As the commentator pointed out, this is about 1 minute faster than 25 years ago. @Bobby Burtonmight be a bit of interesting content for OTF to see the training routine of these olympic sports athletes. They do it for love of sport & very little NIL Certainly not to be in the hearts of Longhorns everywhere. We cannot follow them all. Yet they are an incredibly important part of the UT fabric. -

WCWS Elimination Game: Texas vs. Nebraska | Texas wins, 3-1

Fwiw, my late Mother couldn't stand to listen to Beth Mowins. Mom was 92 when she died in 2021 and was Old School of the WWII generation. She would complain about "women announcers" and if Mowins was on the call of any Longhorns sporting event, Mom turned the audio off. My parents met in the late 1940s because my Dad was playing Double A minor league baseball and Mom was an avid amateur softball player. I always knew they were a bit disappointed that my baseball skills were limited but I gave it a go all the way through American Legion level after high school. I suppose the "women announcers" thing may be partly generational because I have always thought Beth is a good play by play person behind the microphone. Your post about Beth's voice was a nice reminder of how my mother would have agreed with you! Thanks and Hook 'Em! RIP Mom and Dad... both loved the Longhorns.
