  1. Past hour
  2. Wow, that's a doomsday prophetic post. Unfortunately, I share some of that same pessimism you feel. However, I see Texas going for a Bob Chesney/Curt Cignetti type of coach next time, and not a legacy like Major. R tried that before with McWilliams and it didn't turn out so well.
  3. I guess the β€œbright side” for this is that defense went against Ole Miss, who is second on this list, and they seemingly held them in check for the majority of the game. Obviously, there are injuries now on that side that are more important, but we did that without Simmons, and he could be back this game along with the most important positions on defense still being healthy enough to go.
  4. a few ?? I think you mean a lot Just messing with you . . . πŸ™‚
  5. That's an interesting suggestion: splitting the O-line coaching duties. Has that been done before somewhere else?
  6. That's troubling. I like the guy like I like Arch.I want them both to succeed.
  7. I agree. His hubris might be his downfall.
  8. Nick Saban never β€œfired” anyone. He would just tell them to go find another job. It’s funny that the same people who claim Sark has some β€œhuge ego” also believe he would walk as the head coach at Texas so he could go call plays at NC State or some such. That doesn’t compute. He’s going to do what it takes to continue being the head coach at Texas, even if it means having tough conversations.
  9. Hope we force more 3 and outs on MU or it’s going to be a long day for the defense. Because we know the offense is going to have a few of them atleast.
  10. There are ways to do this whilst 'saving face' and keeping his agenda. An active set of eyes in the box upstairs is essential. The OL and ST coaches are, however, toast. The backsliding trends are affecting recruiting.
  11. You think the people funding the program want more of Sark's offense? I'm just saying that outside of a miracle where this mediocre team wins out, there is zero chance that the decision makers sign up for more of the same on offense next year. In my opinion If Sark is back at all (not a given), it will be with an OC.
  12. You are not wrong!!!
  13. I see what you are trying to do here. πŸ˜‚
  14. Already down to -2.5; I’d expect it to close near -1.
  15. Sark is just Brent Venables with a better PR team
  16. Today
  17. The absence of a true point guard against St. Johns was a big problem. Most teams can't pressure like SJ, but it's definitely a potential problem for this team if the guards don't improve their ball handling. It's not a coincidence that Pitino told Jon Rothstein in an interview a couple of days before the game that teams who think they can get away with combo guards rather than true point guards are living in a dream world.
  18. He'll be a short spurt player rim protector. Rim protector and paint defender. I'm not sure it changes much, but it's nice to have in spurts
  19. Thanks Jeff...super excited for the season and the coverage that you and Gerry will provide on OTF for Texas Hoops!
  20. Interesting that Texas has beaten three of the four lowest 3 and out teams! Hmmmm .... Perhaps turnover margins are more relevant? Short punting certainly could become a problem. 🀘🏻🀘🏻🀘🀘🏽🀘🏾🀘🏿
  21. I have always loved hard hedging with connectivity for proper rotations. Sean Miller is brilliant. Thanks for the nugget.
  22. Joe Sterling needs to be on the court as a free throw shooter when teams foul at ends of games. Weaponize my boy. 🀘
  23. Marcus spears will definitely start at some point this year and have ability to run the offense as a point forward. He is a modern day Michael beasley/Chris bosh type player. Will absolutely have the ability to play the 3 and be a better ball handler than most people have projected.
