Things I’m happy to admit I was wrong about
Bobby Burton replied to Bunk Moreland's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Really good post. For those in the stadium last night, you might not realize that the 2nd and goal from the 1 was officially ruled a fumble by the officials and it was recovered by Texas. I say that not to disparage what Smothers brings to the table, but Texas needs a pile mover in short yardage if at all possible. -

Things I’m happy to admit I was wrong about

No need to apologize. We’re all fans looking from the outside in. Sark’s team proved him right last night. Now let’s go build on it. -

Not sure about that apology from Joez,Bunk. I hear he’s pretty upset about those ducks ! 🦆🦆 -
After last night (and through two games), who this team is at its core is starting to come into focus. And I’m happy to admit some things I was wrong about. * Smothers is really good. I was dead wrong about him. He’s a hard runner who can move the chains, run power, but is also capable of explosiveness. Maybe above all, he is money in the red zone. That is not a quality to be taken lightly after the last few years. * Sikorski might just be the best LG of the Sark era by the end of the year. As solid as Hayden Conner was in pass pro, I don’t ever remember him grading out like THAT, especially against that level of competition. And he is clearly the best run blocking LG we have seen under Sark. He’s not a finished product by any means, but I never expected to see him making these strides so fast. * Spencer Shannon was a JAG and I never expected him to be anything else. But he’s been really good so far, especially in the run game. After we heard nothing but positives on Masunas all spring, it’s sort of shocking to see Shannon playing as much and as well as he is. * The whole OL. @Joe Z might need to apologize to his boy Flood if they keep this up. I don’t think I can remember us leaning on and physically dominating this level of DL since the Bama game in 2023. They’re not perfect, but they have a chance to be really good by December. * Justin Cryer got a lot of crap from people on this board after the first game, and rightfully so. But he was very solid last night.

This French team gave the women hell at the last Olympics so this isn't a surprise.
