Kenny Vaccaro might've been the last true head-hunting safety Texas had. Kenny was much more than that, though. Even more recently, guys like Jason Hall get moved to linebacker. That's what happened to DeMarvion Overshown. The move worked out for him, to say the least.

Big season for Jeff Banks' unit coming up. A little concerned about Gianni Spetic's accuracy, but the leg power is there for sure. While I don't think Mac Chiumento can replicate what Jack Bouwmeester did, hopefully he is better than Michael Kern was two seasons ago. I feel good about their long snapper Trey DuBuc.

Until we match up with UGA’s special teams, I can’t rank Banks ahead of their guy.

Buckle up for another trip to Globe Life Field... Texas Baseball announced Tuesday morning that they will be participating in the 2027 Shriners Children's Classic. The six-team field also consists of Arizona, Clemson, Oklahoma, TCU, Texas and Virginia. The Longhorns last competed in the Shriners Children's Classic in 2025 when they took home the tournament championship.

Probably not a thing as much anymore given the targeting rules and how often it's called. Jelani would be my bet for hardest hitter of the bunch.

I saw Doug English when he was in Junior High school in Dallas. I was a friend of his sister Tina. Doug has always been as good of a human being as he has been a football player. It is hard for me to imagine a better number 74 in Texas history. The Detroit Lions would also second my opinion when it comes to his ability as a football player.
