  1. Past hour
  2. Some good ones at 81, but Pat Fitzgerald for me. We wouldn't have gotten to fourth down in St Louis if not for a ridiculous one handed catch he made. As an aside, James Brown's escape from the pass rush in the end zone was ridiculous also - just an other worldly play.
  3. There’s a tight end who wasn’t mentioned. I heard that you can call him and get it straightened out. The phone number is 281-330-8004.
  4. This board would melt down if we were landing the type of players they were. OU recently landed a backup INF from A&M and middle reliever from UTA. They are playing in a different sandbox than the type of guys Texas is trying to get.
  5. the right thing is also the smartest thing and they went 0-2
  6. Got Mbappe, Messi and Haalund all to score a goal today, btw.
  7. We get to see Mbappe and Messi today!
  8. Just read the article on ESPN explaining the supplemental draft process. Really interesting process. Essentially, a team uses a draft pick it would have had in next year’s draft if they are the highest “bidder”. It would be surprising to see someone use a first round pick on him in this supplemental draft. Next year will likely have some good QBs in the draft. But also seems that someone can risk low draft capital and get him if they want. Sounds like, if he goes into that supplemental draft, he’s likely to get someone who will at least give up a late round pick. That’s what it seems like to me.
  9. Im not talking about a simple DL check like for a job at Amazon. Surely a team will snoop around a $5+ Mil potential signee to see if he has some skeletons in the closet. 9,000 bets, $90K, at 2 schools….and no one had any idea he had a problem? I’m not buying that.
  10. Yep. Sad part for tech fans - sorsby comes in, poops the bed, takes off, and they have to deal with the stink.
  11. My guess is that a team will gamble on bringing him to camp (inadvertent play one words)and not worry about what transpired on the college level. It's business.
  12. Today
  13. Yep. Nothing says helping a players mental health like Tech being a big/key part of having said players name drug through the mud for weeks in hopes of getting eligible, and then being a big/key part of dumping him when Texas Tech had their back against the wall.
  14. So we playing this game week 1 or what?! Not hearing much talk about that now Joey and Codeman🧏🏼‍♂️
  15. Pat Fitzgerald for me, very close with Dronett avd Acho. Practically tied at the top. I think Townsend has 30 catches for 575 yards 5 receiving touchdowns avd 2 rushing TDs.
  16. Thanks Blake! Love Sam Acho, Shane Dronett and Pat Fitzgerald! 🤘
  17. Also, what’s your expected stat line for Nick Townsend this season? How many yards and TDs?
  18. We’re 81 days away from Texas football, and No. 81 has one of the strongest groups in the countdown so far. Pat Fitzgerald was a two-time first-team All-American at tight end, while Sam Acho finished with 23.5 sacks and earned both the Campbell and Wuerffel trophies. Shane Dronett recorded 22 career sacks and set the Texas single-game record with five against Texas Tech, and Maurice Doke was a first-team All-American and the 1959 Southwest Conference Lineman of the Year. The current No. 81 is tight end Nick Townsend. Who gets your vote as the best Longhorn to wear No. 81?
  19. Need to get T&F back up to SPEED>
  20. What happened to all of the rhetoric by Tech about merely trying to help the poor young man? When they feel the heat they let him go? What a crock. It was never about helping Sorsby. It was all about helping Tech.
  21. late night dump for the "media." Exhausted all trial baloons and Sorby has to face the music anyways. And Tech has even more to face. They overplayed their hand. ft
  22. True, if they really wanted to help the guy with his addiction, they would have told him, "Look, you can't play now, but we'll honor your NIL deal and help you out." That's not what they did. They put him in the worst situation by using him to make the entire sports world angry.
  23. I lost a lot of respect for Cody Campbell and the rest of the Texas Tech admin responsible for this. I do believe Sorsby’s battles with gambling addiction are real and the young man needs help. What is despicable is how the Tech admin exploited his situation instead of just helping him.
  24. What does the word great mean? If you throw out terms like "great player" and "generational leader," then high criteria must be met. Three all NBA first teams and a couple of any level all defensive teams aren't exactly rarified air. I mean, there are scores of players who have done that in NBA history.
  25. This went as bad as it possibly could have for Tech. They incurred the ire of the entire sports world and then lost Sorsby anyway. It was pure hubris on the part of Campbell to think he could pull this off. There's a high probability that Sorsby will be denied entry into the supplemental draft or simply that no NFL team wants to take him. Fiasco all the way around.
