I think Arch gets better when he’s pissed off. It became a bit of a meme that the nation laughed at, but when he got popped after scoring a TD during the UTSA game last year (or was it UTEP?) and got up salty, it made him a better player. When Livingtone kept dropping balls in the Michigan game, you could see Arch on the sideline pissed off saying “F it!” and then he proceeded to rip it up. Sark has said that he needs to get popped a bit to get his competitive juices flowing. I actually think, paradoxically, the clean pockets have prevented him a bit from getting his competitive juices flowing. It’s why I hope Sark dials up some designed QB runs early. Arch might need it to get his head in the game.

Wonder how these grades work. Arch’s only real pressure has come from blitzes. Assuming these OL grades don’t account for them?

35-17 Texas! Our running game is good and Arch uses his legs in the second half to score two touchdowns. Mosley has a productive game with 8 catches and one touchdown. Coleman finally catches a bomb and scores on a 60 yard pass play.

Technically he’s 0.1% better.

Arch has had a TON of time all year....so the excuse last year that he didn't have time causing his low completion percentage is now worthless b/c his completion percentage this year is worse than last! lol

It also doesn't help that parents with talented kids are consolidating so that their kids play with good players to enhance their spotlight. Dulles is in Fort Bend which has Seven Lakes and the neighboring district is Katy. It's a bit of a microcosm of NIL at the college level. The separation between the haves and the have nots is getting bigger and bigger.

This kind of makes the Arch struggles a bit more of a head scratcher. A lot of the early struggles last year were due to inexperience and poor pass pro. If the protection continues to hold up, maybe that will help Arch get the ship righted a little quicker this year.

The only team that could have an assistant coach say this with any honesty is UTSA. On lunch with the coaches this week they were talking about how coaches will often run the team extra hard in practice on weeks with “cupcake” games, just to build conditioning for future tougher opponents. Hence the players are often more exhausted and have weak jelly legs against easier opponents. That could explain the team looking less physical and playing “soft” last Saturday. Might also explain the injuries.

If Texas is truly soft, it'll show up in Saturday's game because Tennessee is gonna run right at the D.

Thought this was pretty cool

The article is whatever but we’ve had 1 quarter where we stood strong all year. One. We are not, today, the best team in the country. Soft is a trigger word for people so it’s used. Our offense definitely needs to find more mental dexterity if we have any hope of making a run. We’ll learn a good bit tomorrow. Wifey is from TN and into football so it’ll be an interesting watch, lol. 🤘🏽
