  1. Past hour
  2. I am not going to say panic but more or less disappointed especially on the offense. I am contemplating that is this offense has not become too predictable. And over the past 6 years Sark hasn't changed much and it's starting to catch up. And I just don't think this team is an explosive offense the personal is there but everybody now sees what Texas can do. We just need to be a blue collar hound it down run short intermediate passing game then at some point explosiveness will happen.
  3. I mean that is fair. 4 years into the system and still the same questions. Then at times he is a world beater. Frustrating as hell. And yeah the excuses are getting old to be honest. Maybe this is just who he is . I still am willing to see it play out, and hopefully these things can be corrected. Still want to be fair because you can see the good as well. But it's evident we have to win in all 3 phases. No one person can carry this team like a Chambliss can for Ole Miss. But we have enough talent, and hopefully we put it together to take some pressure off. Will see.
  4. No panic. Texas will not be ultimately judged by how they play against UTSA. Judgement will come against the likes of Tennessee, etc.
  5. Panic? Absolutely not. Do I feel good about this team offensively when we're about to go play Tennesse in Knoxville? No, I don't. Like Bobby said, I'm not gonna draw any conclusions based on how people play or coach against UTSA, I'm gonna reserve that for OSU, Tennessee, OU, etc...
  6. half joking. It should be Peyton and they should have Ella perform
  7. I think benching someone after leading a 4th quarter 21 point comeback where he was dang near perfect because they're playing bad against UTSA is probably the reason why you're not into coaching lol. Not there with you at all. But he has to play better. I don't think it's performance anxiety at all since he actually plays better when *stuff* gets real and Texas needs it... if he had performance anxiety he would've crumbled last week, he would've crumbled against michigan, he would've crumbled against a&m, he would've crumbled against mississipi state... I think he just gets in his head too much some time and I think the off field stuff this week didn't help. I think he wanted to go out and be perfect last night instead of just playing football and having fun and when things didn't go perfectly he got in his head.
  8. Guest picker needs to be Ella Langley for the whole “Choosin’ Texas” joke that ESPN can push for 3 hours straight
  9. Not panicking, but there are some legit concerns. Obviously the offense had to get going faster and for 4 quarters. We won but I'm looking at the big picture SEC schedule now. I truly hope Arch gets better at the weaknesses he has right now. He has to for us to get where we all wanna go. Not bashing him because again he does many things well. But I think there are legitimate questions about the same things over and over. Will know way more about 2:30 next Saturday. But to be fair they all looked out of sync. I expect better Sat of course. Be a long 2 weeks before OU if we play flat again. Tennessee is definitely gonna be a challenge. I always had OSU and Tenn as the bell weather's. Got 1 need 2 ! Hopefully all 3 phases show up and play 4 quarters.
  10. Emotionally I was ready for him to be bench. I’m always root for him to be great, but realistically speaking, I started to wonder if he gets performance anxiety once things are out of sorts. I really don’t know what to blame Sark on.
  11. Learning some valuable lessons. Hand the ball off. Kneel down in traffic.
  12. I would rather face adversity against UTSA at home than on the road in Knoxville. I was at the game yesterday, and I was definitely frustrated. Learn from it and move on. Arch started slow last year too, and I would rather be in this position this year than last.
  13. We can't wait for football season until actual football is played. People were anxious up 20-3 at the half in a game that wasn't in doubt after the first play. Last week, I happened to go back and look at our schedule in 2023, our first conference championship in almost 15 years. We were favored by 23 at Houston and won by a TD and a questionable officiating call. We went to OT against KSU and benefitted from a missed FG and some very questionable coaching decisions by KSU. We were favored by 12 at TCU and won by a FG. It happens. College football is an ugly, messy sport. There will be more ugly and gut-wrenching games this season, I just hope we win most of them.🤘
  14. Just the best guy. Thanks for sharing, Jeff and Hank. 🤘🏽
  15. Not much reason to panic.
  16. For the most part, I am right there with you. My hesitation is that this game felt a lot like UTEP last year where everything was very clunky, Arch was not accurate, the line was leaky. I am ok with the team having a rough outing, especially after all the emotions and distractions of this last week, but I also know that the UTEP game last year was a foreshadow of issues the rears throughout the year last year and I hope that is not the case for this game. We will find out this week at Tenn.
  17. Lol
  18. Am I the only one not panicking at all after last night? Of course it was an awful showing of the number one team’s offense in America, but it was bound to happen. Bad games are apart of Football and bad days and weeks are apart of human nature. This game wasn’t as bad as i honestly thought it was going to be following what happened this week leading to it. Sure Arch didn’t play to his standards and obviously he knows it, but neither did his pass catchers or his linemen. Did UTSA blitz almost every play? Just about. Did that mess up timing and gave less time for our receivers to get space? Yes of course. Should Texas had made adjustments to combat those problems? Of course but they didn’t till the fourth quarter. Long story short is that Texas faced adversity all week and it showed up Saturday night in a way that’s not pleasant to the fan base. But IMO you have to give this team grace for what they’ve accomplished already in this young season. Sure they haven’t had as many flashy explosive plays as they probably should have right now, but they’ve managed to knock off probably the second best team in the nation regardless of ranking. They don’t have the luxury of having those explosive plays and ran up scores for that reason. Thus making me not panic. I don’t care about explosive plays. I care about wins, and that’s what they’ve done so far, and against a team that would almost certainly beat anyone else in the top 10. So, don’t panic yet. Arch is a human being. Not a perfect machine. The offense will be fine. The defense will continue to dominate. All you can do it learn from this week and move on to Tennessee.
  19. So gameday is only visiting SEC schools this year. Awesome.
  20. The morning after the UTSA game, Arch Manning was visiting patients at Texas Children's Hospital in Austin:
  21. I feel like -5.5 after struggling like that on offense along with the O/U being 57.5 would make a lot of people pick Tennesee and the under. Yeah Vegas is gonna make a lot of people overthink this week. I think Florida and Baugh are for real but I think Ole miss wins. I think OU and A&M are bad. A&M seems bad even on defense. And I think USC beats Oregon.
