T’vondre and Barryn are testaments to staying all 4 years and taking your development serious

There is something clearly off with Arch Manning. The Texas quarterback has yet to live up to the hype so far this season. He has completed just 55.3% of his passes for 579 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions to go with 112 rushing yards and three rushing scores through three starts. However, when you watch Manning play, he’s played pretty poorly and nothing has looked solid. Manning’s issues are very different from the issues Clemson’s Cade Klubnik and South Carolina’s LaNorris Sellers are dealing with because they aren’t holistic. That Texas offense has quality wide receivers and running backs with a good offensive line. Has that group played its best football around Manning? Probably not. Still, this is an Arch-specific issue with Texas’ offense. Manning threw 10 straight incompletions against UTEP. His completion percentage is the second-worst in the SEC. But when you account for throws that actually go past the line of scrimmage, he’s completing just 46% of his passes. So, I went back and watched every throw Manning made against UTEP to try and diagnose the problem. Just to preface this, when I watch a young quarterback, there are a few things I look for. One of them is to see if the speed of the game is impacting his play. That looks to be the case for Manning. Even with the games he started last year, it didn’t really translate to him being comfortable. 25-26 Director's Cup Thread
DirectorsCupUpdates replied to DirectorsCupUpdates's topic in On Texas Football Forum
So much to play out this year regarding the Cup. 1 bad required sport will hurt Texas but certainly not sink our chances. If Stanford puts up 0s again in W and M Bball and baseball, Texas still has a great shot. I haven't written it up yet but Cross Country also not looking super strong but you could make a good argument for every other team on campus to have very very high level success this year. -
Kyle Flood has got to go
TexasLonghorns replied to Burt Reynolds Jr's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Imagine spending all this time trying to “unmask” random posters on a sports message board. That’s desperate. I’m here to talk ball, you’re here to write fan fiction. Digging through Twitter to prove I’m some mystery man? That’s not detective work, that’s just you putting in more effort than the actual coaching staff. Maybe take a water break, you’re working harder at this than the team’s offensive line. - Today

We’re going to see Brock Williams play tonight. He’s a five star TE who plays for Libertyville (IL) HS. Will report back.

Don't feel the need to respect dumb takes. "We may have seen the best of Sark so let's cut our losses now and hire the next sure thing"?? Just confounding...

Ok, cool. Hook Em. -
Super lazy response but makes sense you’d choose it.

How is the new indoor facility coming?
TexShoe replied to Califashorn75's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Oregon is just trying to squeeze every bit of juice out of Knight before he checks out. -
Love this!! Talk about a real DUDE!!
-
He was one of the rare players that got better year by year. I remember watching against Tech in 21 thinking this guy can be something down the road. Glad to see he is still getting better!

Barryn Sorrell is beasting out to start the season. Through the first two games, he has the highest pash rush winrate in the NFL for anyone with more than 5 snaps @ 33.3%. 2 Pressures, 1 sack and 1 hurry on 8 attempts. This doesn't surprise Longhorn Nation but still amazing to see what we know actually play out for this young man. Can't wait to see him continue his upward rise.

once this is complete, what is going where the bubble and practice field are now? -
Baugh, Simon, Cooper, and Stewart would be a pretty nice RB room. You would have it all from power, speed, acceleration, vision, pass catching, and pass pro.
-
@Gerry Hamilton I go all in on Jayden Baugh
-
I have 48-6 Horns
-
49-7

55-3 for Texas. If Arch doesn’t find his groove this game I will officially be worried.
-
52-3 Predicting a Spencer Shannon touchdown, James Simon touchdown, and a Jonah Williams punt return over 20 yards. Defense 5 sackles and 3 turnovers forced. Arch: 21-27 335 yards 5 combined rush/pass TDS 0 int.

Florida Recruits
Quinncent McManning, Jr. replied to georgethepunter's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Too many good Florida jokes this week -
It appears we are having our d-line penetrate more this year. With such elite edge rush, I would prefer for them to hold gap integrity better and create a smaller pocket. It is rather irrelevant so far this season, but worries me against teams such as OU, UF, and UGA. with qb's that can buy time by manipulating the pocket. @Jeff Howe Am I crazy for focusing on this?

Would hope you are right but at least the men’s ball team got points for the tourney last year. This years soccer team adds zero points. Stanford football is irrelevant but their women’s soccer team is number 2 in the country -
@Blake Munroe I had meetings this morning and am listening about 10 minutes behind. Next time you have Coach Erwin on, could you ask him about people who are stunningly suggesting that Coach Flood be replaced (which is so absurd I snickered in disgust actually writing this). I have a feeling Coach Erwin's response would be OTF gold....
