No real rituals for me. I can’t seem to decide which shirt is lucky for me. This year I’ve had trouble getting into a college football groove as I have been traveling back and forth across the country to tend to an ailing parent. I got back in week 2 just in time for the Ohio State game but caught a bug somewhere along the way. fortunately, I’m feeling a bit better and have an overnight brisket hitting 198 so it’ll be ready to pull soon and go into a holding pattern before the game. I’ll have smoked sausage and cream cheese along with queso and guacamole for the game, too. If we play well, perhaps this will become my tradition. Hook’em.

Confession time. I'm sure I'm not the only superstitious fan out there. Do you have any things you do every longhorn game day, things you "have" to do for the team to win? (It's real) I always have a shower in the morning of games, razor shave (other days I only use a trimmer if i shave at all), put on a clean longhorn t-shirt (a new one each season, it also has to be washed between games), clean pants, clean socks, clean sneakers. All this has to happen before College Gameday starts at 8 am. Writing it down feels almost embarrassing, but here we are...

A good running game is a good passing attacks best friend. Thr biggest issue I see is Arch not trusting what his reads say....second guessing himself. He is pressing. Arch has to find that eff it moment and start believing what he sees and bigger than that trusting himself. To much time trying to be perfect instead of just being himself. Other bits...Texas ball carriers and wrs have to value the ball and avoid turnovers. Further Texas up to the UTSA game was playing fairly cleanly. Penalties have to be kept under control. Ive got no issues with the defense to this point in the season. Opposite Simmons needs to make sure to work outside in to keep rbs from gaining the edge. If Texas can establish the interior run and keep ahead of the chains it will compliment what the Defense is doing. Dont get greedy. Explosive plays are great but wearing down a defense over the course of a game will give you many more opportunities.

Meanwhile, Hawkins Jr. is balling out for RichRod at WVU.

It’s crazy how everyone is picking Tennessee. We should have plenty of bulletin board material going into this game.
