Offense (2 deep) QB - Arch Manning (KJ Lacy) RB - CJ Baxter OR Tre Wisner WR - Emmett Mosley OR Ryan Wingo WR - Parker Livingstone (Kaliq Lockett OR Jamie Ffrench) WR - DeAndre Moore Jr (Daylon McCutcheon OR Jermaine Bishop) TE - Jack Endries (Nick Townsend) LT - Trevor Goosby (Nick Brooks) LG - Conner Stroh OR Neto??? C - Conner Robertson (Daniel Cruz) RG - Nate Kibble OR ??? RT - Brandon Baker (Andre Cojoe) Biggest Holes: LG, RG, and RB. We don’t have 1 starting caliber Guard on the team going into next year and we yet have 2 open starting spots (gulp). I think we need a bruising RB from the portal who has no injury history. The rest of the offense is going to better in 2026 with an extra year of experience. Defense (2 deep) DE - Colin Simmons (Colton Vasek OR Smith Orogpo OR Richard Wesley) DT - Alex January (Maraad Watson) DT - Hero Kanu (Lavon Johnson/Justus Terry) DE - Lance Jackson (Zina Umeozulu) LB - Tyanthony Smith (Leona Lefau) LB - Brad Spence (Bo Barnes) CB - Graceson Littleton (Warren Roberson) CB - Kade Phillips (Kobe Black) Star - Wardell Mack (Smoke Matthews) S - Derek Williams (Jonah Williams) S - Xavier Filsaime (Jordan Johnson Rubbell) Biggest Holes: CB and Safety. We need at least 1 starting level CB, maybe even 2. We also need 1 starting level safety, I don’t trust Filsaime. My Top 5 Transfer Portal Christmas List (from teams who have fired their coaches) 1. Roderick Kearney OG - Florida (started several games as SO this year, has NFL potential) 2. Ashton Stamps CB - LSU (12 PBUs in 2024) 3. Caden Durham RB - LSU (our new Jaydon Blue) 4. P4/G5 starting level OG 5. P4 starting quality Safety Who do you guys want most from the portal that isn’t going to completely break the bank?

Problem with PK is he has too much reliance on the passing game coordinator to handle the back end. Similar to his time at Washington with Lake. I think he's made massive strides in his time at Texas but Sark keeps hiring guys that don't mesh with PK very well at all. Akina is a perfect example. Akina is a man specialist. PK wants to run zone. The result is as we've seen. It took Joseph and PK 4 years to get on the same level with each other. Not sure who you'd hire to replace him (not saying I want to or you are) but it's an interesting hypothetical. For the experience these DB's have, the secondary should not be this bad, disjointed or not communicate. Makes no sense to me. -

Exaggerated talk. The truth is somewhere in the middle. -
Georgia is a tough match up for most teams . Texas has had one bad game this year in my opinion. They didn't really show up for the Florida game and I think that is because it was early in the year and they were young as a team. Georgia made a 4th and 1 that turned the the game around, but it was the the onside kick that has caused all the damage. Up until the onside kick Texas had some momentum and were making a come back. I'm not sure this team was ever going to be able to live up to the hype. The reality is the line was inexperienced and the receivers drop too many balls. That doesn't make them a bad team or make the program a bust. Losses to Ohio State and Georgia aren't the same as Maryland. Finish the season with two wins, absolutely doable, and its the Florida game that will haunt us. On another note, lost all respect for Kirby Smartass for his post game comments. He's getting his ass kicked in recruiting by Texas and attacks our NIL program. How many bags did Georgia drop before NIL arrived to get where they are? Cheering for the rambling wrecks from Georgia Tech since Charlotte won't be much of a bump on their schedule.

What’s funny is I thought some of this would end when we left the big 12. Why do we stay in fan bases heads. It’s a compliment. Why do other fan bases care to do the horns down? Georgia hasn’t had enough success and risen high enough that their head coach doesn’t have to target is in a post game pressor, or we see them online bad mouthing us , or witness horns down all game? I think if we beat Georgia, and we will soon again, We will just move on to the next opponent. We still get everyone’s best shot!. I thought the SEC was so big it would just be a little different, and it is, but in some ways not. People see that we get recruits from their backyard, and that we are a sleeping giant, so they are scared and have to word fight about us boing soft. The one thing that is wrong about Sark in the heading of this article, is that he can’t recruit. He has absolutely gotten elite recruits . We just need a line and backend defense to first end defense marrying again!. And for the young guys to mature. Maybe next year, don’t know, and this team is fixed. That is a lot, but doable. We’ve done it before. And if anyone hasn’t noticed, Arch is getting better every game, and will be elite more than likely next year as long as he doesn’t catch the yips again. -

This. What sent me over the edge is seeing Sark in these press conferences be completely unable to acknowledge that anything has gone wrong. Strongly disagree with OP about Sark being the OC. OC is a full time job. Sark was a good OC 5 years ago but he has fallen behind big time. There is not enough time in the day for him to run our program and stay current as an elite OC. The results of his piss poor offense speak for themselves. -
Being at#17 fair to say we aren't making the playoffs period. Anything that might happen should begin day after A& M game or for sure after signing day early December . No time to waste , too much to do whether Sark stays goes whatever. Gotta get through signing day then who the hell knows honestly.

How many 5 stars didnt oan out? Banks, Campbell Hill, Simmons? Baxter is because if injuries. So not sure what 5 stars you are referring to -
I have had my frustrations with Sark, but I trust he will be very motivated going in to this offseason. Call it arrogance but he seems annoyed of the criticism (although some is valid). I haven’t given up on him one bit. Plenty of production returning next year. Make the right moves in the portal and the appropriate staff adjustments. This time he doesn’t have to rebuild...just reload.

I'm not sure where to post this or if it was even worth starting a new thread. But I got a good laugh out of this video that came across my feed. Already saw one Texas fan make a post there but most of it is OU, A&M, Georgia and Bama fans tearing us a new one for being entitled and all that. Go have a read and get a good laugh, this is really what they think of us. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwdKbZCWb9M -
Thank you !

I think the fair thing to say is that the expectation is to always compete for a championship, meaning being in contention for a chance to win it all at the end of the regular season.

You should re-read that post

Seems harsh. Sure a Naty is the goal. Only 1 team a year succeeds at that. Disappointment for teams & fans that thought they’d reach that goal but didn’t. Having a disappointing season isn’t sunshine & rainbows. But labeling anything less than a Naty as “failed” - nah that’s not for me. Horns up always. 🤘

Fair enough. In any case, someone needs to figure out where the hell our NIL budget went? How did we not have dry powder for RB and OL? We have to be smarter on the moneyball front or we aren't winning anything in this era. -

Sark wants to act like he didn’t bring up playing for a championship in the offseason. He did it but wants to jump on anyone that even suggests it now. Arrogance at its finest. -
Extremely good program builder IMO.

He is not too close to the players to make harsh NIL decisions. He’s done it every year. -

You don’t speak for everyone here. 1. There’s a reason the back to back playoff appearance actually hasn’t run its course. He did it. Name another coach who did. I’ll stand by and wait. 2. Texas didn’t get in the playoffs because of FSU. Texas was the no. 3 seed in the playoffs, not 4. 3. Acting like close wins don’t count is the same as acting like close losses don’t. It’s asinine. You’re clearly anti-Sark. That’s fine. I’m not going to change you, but stop crapping on every thread like you think what you believe is actually what the greater fanbase does. -

I've never said we should fire him, just that he desperately needs an OC. I also think the model of an independent personnel arm is going to be better going forward. Sark is too close to the players to make the hard NIL decisions and as a result we blew a giant budget on a mediocre team. -

Don't forget that all the issues we see this year, were there the previous 4 years. But because of NIL and the portal, he was able to cover dis own deficiencies. Thinking that Sark is going to change his approach on things is wrong. He isn't going to do that, that is reality. He is what he is. Don't forget the two semi-final runs had a bunch of games that were close that shouldn't have been. We are also lucky not to lose 2-3 more games already this year. Having the fear of not being able to find a better HC if he does decide to leave is hilarious though. That would mean you guys don't trust CDC or Eltife to find someone to continue steering the program in the right direction, which is funny because everyone always praises them for all the work that has been done in the athletic department (especially CDC). I don't really care what happens either way. Just want to see a better product on the field than what has been put out there. Right now, Sark doesn't think anything is wrong just that we've been unlucky or whatever.
