42 Days Until Kickoff: Who Is Your Favorite No. 42?
PaulieD replied to Blake Munroe's topic in On Texas Football Forum
This one will be hard for me. I'm going with A Curl. Bruiser. Love Caleb B's name tho. Steady player. - Today

We’re 42 days away from kickoff and today’s countdown features one of the toughest jersey numbers in Texas history. Anthony Curl headlines the list after piling up 403 career tackles, earning two All-Southwest Conference selections, and serving as a team captain. His 157 tackles in 1992 remain one of the best single-season marks in school history. Richard Peavy was a three-year starting strong safety and four-year letterman who helped Texas reach three bowl games while providing steady play in the secondary. Caleb Bluiett rounds out the list after contributing on both sides of the ball, appearing in 44 games while recording 43 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, plus 10 receptions for 178 yards and two touchdowns. The current No. 42 is freshman deep snapper Trott O’Neal. Who gets your vote as the greatest Longhorn to wear No. 42? 🤘

Biggest narcissist in the history of the NBA. That's saying something. -
Give Brendan Sorsby a call. I think he has some time on his hands.
-
Yup. If I'm understanding things correctly, Hutson is only trying to get what the two classes ahead of him received and every class after him will receive going forward.

The defense had much better personnel. Had pre-season All-American gamebreakers at every level of the defense while the offense had none of that. Sark made the DC change to add what the defense was missing but also brought in Coleman, Smothers, Raleek, Siani, Seymore & Masunas to add what Sark believes the offense was missing.

Didnt pavia already play 5 years though?

Livingstone was pretty clutch for us early on but he teetered off towards mid season and never really was that reliable after that. Wanted to wish him all the best but the way he left and created drama about it left a bitter taste in my mouth. Hope our guys pummel him into the dirt when it comes time.

Same here but i would be down!

OU’s #3 WR trying to flex

That why even though the 2022, 2024, and 2025 wins were great, I'm greedy and want to see if Texas can break through a barrier they haven't broken through this century and beat Oklahoma in football three times in a row. Jeff has said in livestreams in the past that it is time for Texas to go on a long streak of wins over OU in Dallas over the next decade and establish complete dominance in this series again. Georgia went through this with Florida in the '90s and '00s before Kirby Smart was hired and flipped that series. Ohio State went through this with Michigan in the '80s and '90s before Jim Tressel and Urban Meyer were hired and flipped that series. Tennessee went through this against Alabama and Nick Saban until Josh Heupel was hired and made that series even. It's time for Texas to go on a run against OU that's so dominant Texas is leading the series since 2000 by 2040. Best decades for Texas against OU were the 1900s, 1940s, 1960s and the 1990s, hence the lead they have in the overall series. Win at least 3 of the next 4 Red River games to close out the 2020s and go from there. It can be done. -
I doubt seriously that Texas will go into that game given the change in the chess pieces with anywhere near the same gameplan. If Texas develops into 3/4 of the ceiling i dont think OU has a chance. With that said, if Texas does NOT put this puzzle together, then BlowU and whatever edge PL can provide them extra ammo. Either way it depends on how Texas melds together. If they loose this game, it will be a direct reflection of this program and direction they are headed.

OU’s #3 WR trying to flex

My one concern with Parker going to OU is the insider info he has on a whole range of things that could give OU the smallest edge—from OL timing and marks to specific calls and little reads on Arch. I’m less worried about the D since we have a new DC. So I doubt there’s any intel he could share with them. But the RRS is a game of inches and momentum swings—the slightest edge he could give them through sharing intel could be huge for them. Then again, we may well just overwhelm them with talent this year and smoke their ass into the grass. -

Idk if anyone would be down but we should get a league going for college fantasy

I doubted him when he was here. I never understood the fascination with this kid, and especially after it was announced that he was leaving. There were people in this community legitimately trying to argue that he is better than Wingo.
