CHorn427 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago vs ND or Miami Is this a possibility? Screw the Citrus vs Michigan 1 1 Quote
Alex Butler Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Doubtful, these bowls have contracts with conferences so they know the no. X team from SEC plays the no. X team from big 10 etc. The bowls very seldom get to select the teams especially big schools. Quote
John F. Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Possible but doubtful. The Gator Bowl is affiliated with the SEC, but the Citrus Bowl has the first pick of non playoff SEC teams. Texas is a draw so hard to imagine them passing. 1 Quote

CHorn427 Posted 13 hours ago Author Posted 13 hours ago I hate that we’re gonna play Michigan. Really do. Nothing to gain. Winless vs ranked teams. It will just be a win margin comparison game at best Quote
4thandFive Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago I’ll take anybody…so far as 95% of our team plays. Quote
AndyL Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago The players that would definitely not play- Anthony Hill, Malik Muhammad, maybe Ethan Burke? Quote

Sark really sandbagged the statistical models by spending 10 games stubbornly trying to be a power running play action team with Connor Stroh and Nick Brooks at guard and CJ Baxter at RB 😭 Quote

The problem isn’t winning the game. The problem is Texas gets no credit if we win and won’t move up rankings or anything. We would if we played and beat ND or Miami Quote

I also would never bet on this Texas team. Even if we dominate there is a good chance we do our classic Turtle Tom+prevent defense that makes the score close at the end. Quote

A win over 2025 Michigan is nowhere close to being a win over 2023 Michigan. Michigan is the most overrated 9-3 team in the country Quote
MBHORNSFAN Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago With opt outs etc these bowl games are nothing more than an NFL type preseason game. The only positive is the extra practices for the young players. Expand the playoffs to 16 with a couple play in games and lets roll.. 1 Quote

Moderators Jeff Howe Posted 45 minutes ago Moderators Posted 45 minutes ago The SEC essentially assigns their bowl teams to certain games. At last check, I’m expecting Texas to be in the Citrus Bowl if the Longhorns don’t make the CFP. Quote
Moderators Jeff Howe Posted 43 minutes ago Moderators Posted 43 minutes ago Regardless of the bowl site or opponent, I’m viewing it as a glorified exhibition in our first look at the 2026 team. Between NFL opt outs and guys getting ready to enter the portal, the Texas roster for a non-CFP postseason game should look a lot different than what the Longhorns put on the field against Texas A&M.
