It's a legit take that our defense was already pretty good, and making this change has risk to it.

I personally think the analytics over rate PK a little. His style of play ("make them drive the entire field") is good for the defensive efficiency stats, but has two key flaws:

1.) It hurts our offense that they have to sit on the sidelines so much while the opponent dinks and dunks for easy first downs,

2.) the entire concept relies on college offenses not being able to put together complete drives. But what happens when we play elite teams and they actually can complete drives?

I do long for a defense that makes the opponent fight for every first down, and I think that is the hope with Muschamp.

Bend but dont break D's suck.

It allows your opponent to flip the field on you.

Rather an attacking D any day.

The one time the Texas Defense frustrated me to the max was when the Horns kicked what should have been the winning FG vs OU... and bent so much with very little time left that the Longhorns lost.

It's clear to me that the 2026 schedule demands a more aggressive style defense that flips the field in our favor. Bend but don't break gives me heartburn and gas.

PS...Is this Head Coach in waiting Part Deaux?!

I sure as hell hope not. Muschamp has proved he is a coordinator and not HC material at 2 different SEC stops.

We fell off defensively at the end of the year and Sark saw something he didn't like. We have to remember that we don't know all the factors. From the outside it looks desperate and an ego move by Sark blaming your failures on defense when you clearly had major issues with the QB, OL, WR, and RB, but I think Sark knows something we don't. I still think he needs help on offense, but I'm not sure he's ready to make that change.

I thought PK was doing okay but that Georgia debacle when receivers were running wild open in the fourth quarter was sickening.  Blame it on Akina but he wasn’t the DC, and if PK can’t coach both ends then, we need an upgrade.  Vandy’s comeback?  Florida was pitiful.  I was traveling back from NYC that day and watch enough to know the defense was not up to par.

I don’t know if Muschamp is the guy about like Ohio State fans did not know if their new hire was the guy.  It worked out for them.
