harveycmd Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Man's on the floor after a monster reverse dunk on Kevin Garnett. Gets up to hustle back on defense. Jordan couldn't beat that. Quote

The frustration that I think some have (and that I had initially) is that OTF started out as a fairly small, tight-knit community with a culture that was generally more easy-going and amiable. For many of us, that’s a big reason we left other sites like IT and OB—to escape the toxic board culture. Almost immediately after the $1 special started, there was an influx of users from those other sites who seemed to embody their toxic cultures. It’s clearly not fair to attribute that to everyone. And you’re completely right that growth is good because, ultimately, this is a business. Many of us are just protective of what we have here. But no reason for us to also not be welcoming and embrace a growing board. So, welcome! $1 user here I will stay subscribed great deal to get a feel for the community I believe it will be weeded out in a couple months. love OTF so glad I found them. 1 1 Quote

harveycmd Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago AI says, "Kobe Bryant is widely considered the best basketball player in the world from 2000–2010, dominating the decade with five NBA championships (2000–2002, 2009–2010), a 2008 MVP award, and elite two-way play. He led the NBA in total points scored during that period and defined the era with his "Mamba mentality." How did chumps like Nash, Nowitzki, and even Duncan win MVP? I'll tell how. Media bias. 1 Quote

harveycmd Posted 42 minutes ago Posted 42 minutes ago Luka sucks and Lakers suck now. I don't want to hear bout college football being great now. It sucks! Bunch of 23-24 year olds playing against teenagers. It's pure BS. This crap would be like watching Kobe playing against Duke in 2002. Guy had been the best player in the world since 2000. None of these crap CFP players are that good, but it doesn't change the principle. I'd rather watch women's basketball than a bunch of mid 20s guys play for a CFP national championship. Quote

Roster sizes haven’t shrunk, they’ve stayed the same while scholarship limits have gone up. The portal should be one big game of musical chairs with enough roster spots for everyone once the music stop. Who or how are all of these players getting displaced? Who are they being replaced by? D2 guys moving up? I have a suspicion that the portal is filled with guys that either got cut or are out of eligibility anyways and wouldn’t be on rosters even in a pre-portal world. Surely there are some that are currently overpricing themselves but they still have an opportunity to lower their demands and make a roster. Everyone who is viable will be on a roster. Where is the crisis? This is a pretty solid thought. I suspect the D2 and D3 guys were hoping for an upgrade. You likely do have more D1 guys hoping to hang on for an extra year. That’s more refusing to let go than crisis. You have seniors exiting and freshmen entering so it’s not like the total of spots are shrinking, as you mentioned. Quote

These players are being told they can get more in the portal, go out trying to get more and the places they want to go are being filled with players that arent demanding ad much ir are deemed higher value targets. D2 players are probably being replaced with d1 players willing to step down and d3 players they sre willing to role the dice on. Quote
