Alex C Posted Friday at 02:44 PM Posted Friday at 02:44 PM Saw this today and honestly, I think that man continues to prove he is smart and knows ball. UT above TT, OU, and A&M, BYU at 14.... Just a couple of good points in terms of season ranks. I do question Vandy so low and Iowa so high, but over all a very solid top 10 and good top 25. 20 Quote

Pwood Posted Saturday at 03:31 AM Posted Saturday at 03:31 AM Respect for Indiana’s coach - looks like he used the eye test of how teams performed at the end of the season instead of just their overall record. 4 Quote
Atticus Posted Saturday at 03:54 AM Posted Saturday at 03:54 AM Ole Miss over Oregon, ND and Iowa too high, but other than that, whatever. Quote

Trust me, if Texas played Iowa you wouldn't question it. Indiana was at full-strength when they played Iowa and it was easily Indiana's 3rd most difficult game behind only Miami and Ohio State. Despite their BS ranking throughout the season, 2025 Iowa should be thought of as a borderline playoff contender (behind Texas and Notre Dame in the 11-13 range). Quote

Truth in what you are saying, but IU did have a weak schedule. So, fair point, but they probably are 5th, 6th, or 7th toughest if they end up on our schedule Quote
CHorn427 Posted Saturday at 11:36 PM Posted Saturday at 11:36 PM Overrated Oregon and Iowa due to Big10 bias. No chance Oregon is better than Ole Miss, UGA or Ohio State. Indiana as a common opponent for Ohio State and Oregon bears that out. Oregon didn’t have one impressive win all season imo. Tech was also overrated 1 Quote

I'm sorry, did Texas play 6 games against teams ranked in the Top 10 this year and 4 games against the final AP Top 5... and I just missed it? Indiana's final SOS rank was #1 for god sake. Texas did not play a schedule anywhere near as difficult as what is listed below. I'm saying my assessment of the challenge of playing Iowa is in the context of these 8 games (my order of difficulty). #9 Miami (final AP #2) #1 Ohio State (final AP #5) * Iowa (final AP #17) #3 Oregon gm 1 (final AP #4) #7 Oregon gm 2 (final AP #4) #10 Alabama (final AP #9) Penn State #9 Illinois (final AP #26 -> 2 votes behind #25 TCU) Quote

Alex C Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago To the two above posts, yes of course. If we end up in the playoffs and SEC championship we would play 2, 3, or 4 games against top 12 competition. We did play a number of top 12 anyway (regular season) whereas the only real top 12 team they played was Oregon until they got to the Big 10 champ game. I am not taking anything away from them because they handled their business, but their SOS for the regular season is not comparable. Even if the SEC is not as dominant at the top post Saban, it is still king of the competitive depth and the regular season SOS bore that out. (The top 10 sos was like 8 or 9 SEC teams) Quote
