BOLD PREDICTIONS FOR 2026 FOOTBALL SEASON

We all have our hot takes and bold predictions.  I wanted to create a thread where we can track these predictions and look back at them during the season to see how right or how wrong we all are.

@CJ Vogel @Gerry Hamilton @Bobby Burton @Jeff Howe  Jump in on the fun and put some bold predictions out there.

MY BOLD PREDICTIONS

1) Wingo will have a better season than Cam Coleman

2) Arch will break single season passing yds and touchdown record

3) Texas will have a top 10 defense

My bold prediction Kyle flood will be our OL coach ☠️💀😭😂

My bold prediction: Joe Z will bring up Kyle Flood at least 250 times from now until the end of next season.

But seriously, my predictions:

1. Arch wins Heisman

2. C Simmons is going to smash modern (post-2000) Texas sack records and goes for 15+ sacks.

3. Goosby is first team all American

4. At some point, Cooper has to play extended snaps and proves he can be a workhorse at RB. By the end of the year he is taking significant snaps.

5. Texas offense is top 5, but defense is a step down (top-30) but will be very explosive

6. Masunas has a better year than Endries did

At this point I do it for fun. I’m not as angry as I was before because it is what it is at this point and I will always cheer for our horns

I don't think this is a really bold prediction, but mine is if Texas loses to Ohio State, they will lose at least two more games in the regular season and miss the CFP for the second season in a row.  If they beat Ohio State, they will go undefeated in the regular season, win the SEC Championship and have an Indiana esque run in the CFP on the way to a 16-0, Arch Manning Heisman Trophy, and national championship season.  Texas will have a top 5 offense for the first time in the Sark era and average over 40 points per game in 16 games.

2) Texas rushes over 200 yards twice 

3) Arch throws fewer than 5 INTs all year

The Texas offensive line will be a Joe Moore award finalist

Arch will lose the Heisman but win the national championship. 
Texas will have 2 receivers with over 1000 yards

Simmons will have 12+sacks in the regular season

Texas defense will be top 5 in all statistical categories except penalties 

Texas will be in the top 20 lowest penalized teams in the country. 
 

the last one is the least believable sadly.

Texas defense will accumulate the most sacks in a season under Sark

Brown/Smothers combine for 2000 APY

KJ Lacey shows flashes of being QB1 for 2027

Got a feeling the last one is going to be one of the biggest points of improvement for Sark during the offseason.

I am board with 1 and 3.  We will have to get in a lot of shootouts for 2 to happen, so I think his chances of topping Joe Burrow are slim.
