Yeah, that was my first thought too. But, he said on his 3rd and longhorn interview he wears 4 for his brother who wanted to play college football but wasn’t quite good enough.

Was about to say the same thing.  Cant be out here just giving out legends numbers without earning it.

Neither have earned it. (Not a shot at either, they are great players) but think about Jahdae was gifted 7 his final year. I think it should go to McDonald if he wants it.

Maybe it's time to consider 'unretiring' some numbers. Give the new players the opportunity to carry on the tradition and honor the legacy of those who wore them before.
