Califashorn75 Posted yesterday at 03:59 AM Posted yesterday at 03:59 AM We likely won't see any of the transfers during the regular season. I still can't figure out why Jordan Lee left. She was always in the post game pressers, seemed to like Coach, was a fan fave too. We may never know. Unless it was money. Good luck to her. 1 Quote

Califashorn75 Posted yesterday at 04:50 PM Posted yesterday at 04:50 PM He has said on numerous occasions that these players are his life. Coach loves his players. No way would he allow her to grieve alone across the Atlantic. 6 Quote
HookemTexas Posted yesterday at 07:36 PM Posted yesterday at 07:36 PM Vic coaches like a parent; he sets expectations and demands excellence while offering tough love. If players break rules, he holds them accountable. Sometimes it may suck to see fan favorites or talents players leave, but based on the above - I do not believe it's because of the type of leadership that Vic puts out. I'm not saying he's perfect (no one is), but I am confident in his ability to hold players accountable in a world where accountability has been lacking for a long time and star players usually get away with more because they are "star" players. 12 1 Quote

To put things in perspective, he could have easily prioritized the portal and getting replacement players for the ones leaving; but he chose to focus on the human and being there for a player. Admittedly, I've been refreshing trying to see what info there is on incoming transfers, but this makes sense why there hasn't been much news. While I want Texas to field the best possible teams and always win it all, Vic's actions show that there are things more important than sports. Also, prayers for Grace Prenter's family, it's very difficult to lose a loved one, especially a parent. 10 Quote

Not a sign of it anywhere on socials. Condolences to the Prenter family. There's still a lot of talent in the portal so we just got to be patient. Quote

BRH4 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago May be finally getting some visits. Brooke Carlson, Zya Vann and Jada Richard. I think Audi too but her camp is quiet. 7 Quote
HookemTexas Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago What are the details on them as possible replacements? Also hoping there's a chance Jordan Lee returns. I'm not a fan of Audi Crooks and just have a feeling that Texas being thrown in there is just for her camp to up the price for the teams that really do want her. I don't see how she would fit into the Texas system that Vic runs - defense first, easy buckets in transition, in the set offense, it's a version of the triangle at the top of the key until they get a mis match or get the look they want to attack. 3 Quote

I think her exit interview was the last straw for her. He likely told her that playing time would be divided with Itute and Crittendon. She wanted more of a commitment from him and it didn't happen. I will wish her well wherever she goes. Jordan Lee got her flowers and minutes all year. Not sure what inspired her to portal. In a way, great coaches can inspire and motivate players. But looking in another way, if a player at this level needs a coach to motivate them they have a problem. Quote

I get where you’re coming from, and you’re right that Vic’s system is built on defense and mobility. I just think Crooks could still bring something Texas hasn’t had in a while ---a steady interior scorer who can settle the offense when transition isn’t there. With the length and athleticism Texas already has around her, she wouldn’t need to switch everything. She’d just need to rebound, wall up, and finish, which she can do. She actually adds a different dimension that could make Texas tougher to guard. Just another way to look at it. 1 Quote

IMO, the offense should not be built around her but as a complimentary "pick your poison". I see if being more of a benefit in the second half when teams are tired and she can just play bully ball. On the defensive side, the rotations have to be on point because the quicker teams will abuse the pick and role with her until they are blue in the face. 1 Quote
