Funny I have just been reading about people who have taken in young rejected or abandoned donkeys.  They seem to adapt surprisingly well to human home life.  There are a couple of donkey sanctuaries in West Texas and New Mexico.  They are intelligent, socual and loyal animals.

Used to work on a horse ranch growing up.  We had a donkey named Rudy.  They are filthy animals but damn they are personable, friendly, & loyal.

Rudy also had a giant schlong.
